  1. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  2. To paraphrase Big O: If you're doing well with a presentation, you can do even better with that same lure in the right color. 8-)
  3. I have never had an issue with TW, Cabela's, or BPS. Actually, I can't recall any issues I have had with any fishing related companies that have not be resolved easily and to my complete satisfaction. 8-)
  4. I agree that shipping charges are excessive, but BPS Customer Service is second to none. Although I buy some gear over the internet, the local BPS gets the lion's share of my business. 8-)
  5. For the most part, Loomis & St. Croix. 8-)
  6. Reel Magic will help, but is washes off. KVD is a better product. 8-)
  7. Shimano Citica saddled to a St. Croix Avid AVC68MXF. 8-)
  8. #6 in green is the better choice. Even though the line is very manageable on its own, KVD Line & Lure Conditioner will improve performance. 8-)
  9. I have fished the MBR844C for a number of years and just recently picked up a BCR854. You would be very pleased with either rod. 8-)
  10. They don't have to be "understanding", the warranty is NO QUESTIONS ASKED. Call or e-mail according to the instructions on the G. Loomis website. They charge you $50, send a replacement rod and you return your broken equipment within 30 days. No hassles! 8-)
  11. I fish a GLX MBR844C and BCR854; Legend Elites EC70MHF and ES70MF as well as several Avids for other applications (moving lures). G. Loomis is King Of The Hill, the LE are more comparable to IMX, but I like them all! 8-)
  12. WOO-HOO! Well, I don't want to leave anyone out, so THANK YOU ALL! I had a ball and hope you did, too. I do want to give special thanks to the guys and gals I got to fish with this week... Chris, Mike, Deb & Greg, Bud, Glenn & Keri, Gene, Scott and Glen (cart7t), thank you very much! Now, start making your plans for next year's 5th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip... NO EXCUSES! -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior 8-)
  13. It was nice of you to drive over and meet with the guys. I hope you can make next year's trip. -Kent
  14. Welcome aboard! After you have been around awhile, you'll find my response repetitive: Spinning tackle: Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 (.010" diameter, 11.9 lb test) Baitcasting gear: Ultra Soft or original formula Hybrid #12 (.013", 19.5 lb test) 8-)
  15. Please read FAQs in the top portion of every section: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?virboard=Fishing_Tackle_ID;num=1133376419 Use the search function for more discussion on this topic. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  16. Although our sponsors don't have specials everyday, several offer discounts to us occasionally: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1238598378/6#6 8-)
  17. Well now, here's a little history: Back before weather forecasts and the internet, the Tennessee Volunteers WALKED down to Texas to save your sorry azzes. This is one of them you might have heard of: http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/treasures/republic/alamo/crockett-01.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_Revolution We're going to miss you guys...
  18. I don't know, but this makes three vegetable threads running on the first page of this section! Then mix it up with all the Abbadabbado chatter and a sprinkling of Quan-to-be reels and you have a mess! Where's the Possee?
  19. The AVC70MF or AVS70MF will make a fine all around rod, but particularly for all single hook lures (spinnerbaits buzzbaits and soft plastics). After that, consider the AVC66MF for your next rod. This is my all around rod for treble hook lures. 8-)
  20. True four seasons with mild winters; small town with big city amenities, moderate cost of living and affordable housing; clean, safe and prosperous; regional center for Health Sciences; State Capitol; fishing at your doorstep (smallmouth fishing downtown!) and easy access to five lakes and two big rivers; close to the beautiful Smokey Mountains, several National Forests and trout streams; a day's drive to the Gulf or Atlantic coast; NFL contenders and all collegiate sports; easy access to several NASCAR venues; the Home of Country Music; and most importantly...
