  1. Memory reduces casting distance; often causes knots or loops; is a mess to deal with, especially in the wind; gets much worse when it's cold; sometimes sticks in guides or wraps around your rod tip and interfers with working a light lure. Overall, it sucks! :
  2. Welcome aboard! We have several guys from Idaho. 8-)
  3. Well, I suppose you can make it as complicated as you like and I know some guys like a variety of styles. For me, if it's a single hook used for soft plastics, 95% of the time it's a 4/0 EWG Gamakatsu or XPoint Offset Worm Hook. For a few applications, 3/0 EWG Offset Worm Hooks or a 5/0 Round Bend. 8-)
  4. Welcome aboard! Everyone has a "favorite" line. Over the years I have fished many and will continue to experiment as new lines are introduced. My line of choice for the past two years is Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft, #6 (11.9 lb test) for spinning tackle and #12 (19.5 lb test) for baitcasting gear. Good luck with whatever you choose. 8-)
  5. Great story...Great fish...Great pic! 8-) p.s. Consider a different line, fish don't break my line...
  6. I fish the Tennessee River's "Rocks From Hell." Football heads help, but that only extends the life of a jig from one minute...to two. 8-)
  7. Man, I lived in Denver when we won the Stanley Cup. No one knew who"Stanley" was!
  8. u must not be chucking them in all the right places then If we were talking about other classes of lures, I would agree wholeheartly, but from what I read and specifically from Matt (Mattlures), swimmbaits are most effective where baitfish would not normally be found. I fish the Mattlures Baby Bass over structure in open water. The smaller swimbaits are, for the most part, fished high in the water column. I don't usually get hung-up in these environments with a single hook bait. 8-)
  9. "That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!" 8-)

  11. Welcome aboard! Idaho is coming on strong. 8-)

  13. George posts a few: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1207740238/3#3 But you are right, we have very few members posting big bass in Florida. :-/
  14. I don't think MegStrike gets "old". I am still working on a tube older than yours and it seems to be exactly the same as it always was. I have a new tube from the Guntersville Road Trip, so I think I'm set for awhile! 8-)
  15. You will need a guide to show you around. 8-)
  16. That fish is almost a long as your grand-baby! Nice fish, great report. 8-)
  17. Not bad for your "second choice". I bet everyone else could make that pond their favorite! Nice fish, nice pic. 8-)
  18. Congratulations! Sounds like a great day to me. 8-)
  19. There is a lot of high, muddy water right now. My Bull Shoals guide told me we would have to put off fishing that lake for awhile. I suspect Table Rock is the same, with more rain on the way. :-X
  20. ** LOWER CASE, please** :
  21. The MBR844C is a workhorse and can be used for a number of techniques. However, it the ideal rod for jigs and soft plastics! 8-)
  22. I have had a little luck just drifting with the wind. Boat management is a "breeze" too! T-rigged plastics were meant for this kind of fishing. Setting up to drift across a point, you can cover a lot of water and may find a very effective pattern. 8-)
