  1. I think I need a set of rings in by chin, too!
  2. Well, ideally I would fish jerkbaits with Armilo (mainline) and T-rigs with fluorocarbon (mainline), but since you want to fish both with the same rig, I would fish the Sunline Defier Armilo.
  3. I would start them out with my favorite spinning rig and baitcaster, then rotate every other rig I carry. I don't own a "loaner" rod or reel.
  4. If you want to meet me at one of the local ponds I will give you three Stella to test drive. I have the original Stella 1000FA, 2500FB and 2500FD. You can decide for yourself if the cost is worth it to you. It is for me.
  5. I have two baitcasters spooled with Tatsu as the mainline, no leader. These rigs are dedicated to (1) bottom contact and another (2) for swim jigs. I have several others spooled with Smackdown mainline and fluorocarbon leaders. I NEVER fish braid by itself. For leader I DO NOT think you need Tatsu, it is just residual for me from leftover spools. My recommendation for leader is #12 AbrazX on baitcasting gear, #8 InvizX for spinning tackle. For treble hooks I prefer not using any braid, using #10 Sunline Defier Armilo as the mainline (75+ yards) and any leftover backing.
  6. No "need" to buy high end gear, but over time you may join the ranks of the "collectors" or enthusiasts. Buy a rod and reel you REALLY want and be patient, building your collection one at a time.
  7. Tie on a leader and experiment with a variety of lines. For single hooks I suggest Tatsu #12; for treble hooks, Sunline Deifer Armilo #10 .
  8. If I only had one topwater lure it would be the Megabass PopMax, Tonosama Frog pattern. http://megabassusa.com/products/popmax
  9. This is the right Forum and there are already many responses to your question. Use our search function or simply go back through the pages in this section and you will find what you are looking for. The simple answer is to contact local business owners that have some connection with your school. These companies DO NOT need to be fishing related. Ask all of the parents to get involved with their social network and I'm sure they can find a few of their friends that might be interested in lending a helping hand.
  10. The 2500 series has plenty of line capacity for saltwater applications, but heavy line on a spinning reel still has its challenges. My suggestion would be #30 Seaguar Smackdown (braid) with a fluorocarbon leader. Something new I am experimenting with is Gliss, but I have not fished it enough to recommend the line at this point.
  11. Different lines for specific techniques is ideal, but you will find your preference over time. Yo-Zuri Hybrid #12 is an "all-around" line to start with. Two others that are also good and inexpensive are P-Line and Izorline.
  12. Team Depends vs. Team Pampers
  13. Welcome aboard!
  14. If you want some company on one of your outings let me know. -Kent
  15. I guess that's a wrap... Goodnight Irene.
  16. I have no idea why you would want that series for freshwater fishing. There is NOTHING about a 4000 series that is interesting unless you are fishing for yellowfin tuna.

  18. I inherited all of my dad's old tackle which included a few special lures. You might consider finding an interesting piece of drift wood and making a display.
