  1. Most of the time on deep structure.
  2. If you are going to get out in the weather, these are the three greatest purchases I have ever made: Cabela's Guidewear http://www.cabelas.com/browse.cmd?categoryId=522332280&WT.srch=1&WT.tsrc=PPC&rid=20&WT.mc_id=GOOGLE|mec_fishing+clothing_general|USA&WT.z_mc_id1=43700004743970023&gclid=CNmz8LfHmMMCFUY7gQodQLUASg&gclsrc=aw.ds Under Armour https://www.underarmour.com/en-us/?cid=PS|google|Trademark|US|IP|Exact|under%20armour|x3Bnlx58&gclid=CLnc75vHmMMCFVc6gQodnHIAWA Sorel Boots http://www.sorel.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-Sorel_US-Site/en_US/Default-Start
  3. This method is easy and fun: If you have free weights they can be tied directly. Otherwise put a known weight in a plastic grocery bag and tie that to the end of your line. 3 lbs is probably about right. GENTLY lift the weight with you rod. Tighten the drag to where it begins to release. I think you will be very surprised at just how much 3 lbs of drag really is. Depending on the stress put on your rod you may not want that much. For heavier gear, perhaps you will want to try additional weight.
  4. You don't have to sacrifice anything to buy complimentary gear.
  5. I think I gave that Deps to my Christmas buddy this year. I had it for a year or two, but never got around to using the lure.. Hmm...tell me a little bit about the lure, I would like to give him a heads-up.
  6. Welcome aboard!

  8. Absolutely! I am even particular about the color coordination of the line. The performance of my equipment is never in doubt. I expect my gear to reflect my attention to detail which includes just about everything.
  9. Isn't uncoimfortable fishing those upside down?
  10. Mike at DVT http://www.delawarevalleytackle.com/
  11. Baitcaster: Power fishing Spinning tackle: Finesse Spincaster: For people that don't fish regularly
  12. Especially spinning tackle. Some of those liitle parts that go flying into space are important!
  13. Add a Fat Ika to the list and for topwater, Zara Puppy.
  14. The best show by far around here is the Bass Pro Spring Fishing Classic. We have contiuous demonstrations and seminars from Tournament Pros and regional celebrities. Company reps from most of the major brands are there to answer questions and participate in many of the activities. And BTW, it's free! Back to your point, the Hunting and Fishing Expos are mostly booth rental with everything from candles to dog leashes. The "fishing" participation is VERY limited.

  16. What! Just kidding...The Rage Rig is something everyone should have in their line-up.
  17. You might want to rethink this theory. Bass will eat almost anything they can get in their mouth. At the right time and situation, both swimbaits and the A-Rig will be effective.
  18. Mike (DVT) built me the perfect Senko rod last year. I am sure you will be impressed, too!

  21. Seasonal for sure, not moon phase.
  22. Well, here is a specific example on Pickwick: A major cove that has constant flow from both run-off and most importantly, a coldwater spring. The cove and underwater creek bed is located just off the main channel of the Tennessee River. The mouth of the cove is deep on one side, but the other is a large pea gravel flat approximately 4'-8' deep dropping into 25' or more. Every species of fish in this river system can be found on or around this flat with constant restocking from the main lake and cove. Oddly, the fish are either there in numbers or they not at all. One stop is never enough, the fish may reappear at any time. A few years ago I was fishing with Dinky at the BassResource RoadTrip. We both caught a lot of fish, but this was my biggest day ever in terms of numbers, 78 bass! Dinky caught most of his on a Red Eye Shad, mine were caught on the Sworming Hornet/ LFT Live Magic Shad.
