  1. Sinker Stops at Bass Pro: http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Sinker-Stops/product/44440/
  2. BTD had reels on sale for 20% off for Presidents Day weekend, but i just checked and that must be over. Chances are other retailers will have some deals for the Classic.
  3. Not me, I'm trying to minimize weight and maximize action. I have weightless LFT Live Magic Shad on the outside arms, a Johnson Silver Minnow in the middle.
  4. Keep an eye on our Flea Market, great deals pop up quite often.
  5. This is a video Glenn did: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/spinnerbaits-bass-fishing.html
  6. If you have some vacation time, join us for the weekend at Pickwick. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/102156-2013-roadtrip-youre-invited/page-19#entry1239433
  7. Poll up and going. Lets lock this thread. -Kent a,k,a, roadwarrior Global Moderator
  8. I'm sure the fish don't know the difference, but you would. I'll leave it at that. If you want to be an old stick-in-the mud, that's your choice.
  9. If you are not in a hurry, GREAT deals pop up on our Flea Market often For $250 you should be able to buy the GLX version of the MBR844C or maybe the BCR 854. These are two of my favorite rods for both jigs and weighted soft plastics.
  10. #1 for me is big worms, especially on ledges. I had some memorable days last summer fishing the Thumper.
  11. Set it up as a poll. It's already Monday afternoon I don't think we have had one this week! Seriously, I see you are new, so go right ahead. You might want to add a few more brands. The results will be the same, but more guys will participate.
  12. Lack of talent? Junior is the reason I don't follow NASCAR anymore. It was a few years ago when the man took out most of the field while illegally running inside in an attempt to score a Lucky Dog. Dude was not suspended or fined. I know he is the most popular guy in the game, but he is a terrible racer.

I wear a bandana summer and winter. In the winter it blocks the wind. In the summer you occasionally dip it in water to stay cool.
  14. Nearly everything I buy is recommended by someone here on BassResource or by a friend. I can only remember three exceptions: 1. Tak Omori: Bagley B2 2. KVD: Red Eye Shad 3. Davy Hite: Berkley Hollow Belly
  15. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-400_162-57569831/danica-patrick-makes-nascar-history/ I gave up on NASCAR a few years ago. I use to think the old saying "If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying" was just funny redneck-speak. However, I find NASCAR oversight dispictable. Now this little bright light rekindles my interest a bit. I don't know that I will ever be a big fan again, but I'm excited about this race!
  16. Hmm... It might be time to move into the new millennium. Modern reels across all product lines have improved dramatically in the last forty years.
  17. Braid is fine on nearly all modern rods regardless of the guides composition. Ceramic inserts come to mind...no issues.
  18. Self promotion or promotion by affiliated persons is prohibited. However, you are welcome to post your experience with tackle from any company, especially as a direct response to a member's question. I recommend products I use, whether they are sponsors or not. Examples include GYCB, LFT, Yo-Zuri, G. Loomis, St. Croix, Shimano, Keitech, Lucky Craft and Megabass to name a few. I have also written articles for this forum on "The Magic Lure", Kreature, Senko, Sworming Hornet and many others. When a member requests advice, I give them my best advice. You may do very well with $0.99 Walmart spinnerbaits, jigs and buzzbaits, but I don't fish them. I believe the MegaStrike Cavitron is The Best Buzzbait in the market, but you are welcome to disagree. -Kent
  19. Welcome aboard!
  20. Depends on what you want to spend. For around $150 you might find a gently used G. Loomis IMX MBR844C.
  21. We're lucky to have a sponsor who makes the #1 Buzzbait in the market. Try a Cavitron for yourself. http://www.megastrike.com/#!products/vstc2=cavitron-buzzbaits
  22. You're gonna need a bigger boat!
