I have two Core and two newer Aldebaran. I prefer the Core.

I have fished Yo Zuri for years and find both #4 & #6 excellent on spinning tackle. #12 was my choice for baitcasting gear. Although I still have Hybrid on a couple of rigs, my go-to is Seaguar Tatsu. #4 & #6 on spinning gear, #15 for baitcasters.

What makes these "excellent"?

That varies by region. In most of the country, maybe 5 lbs. In Tennessee 7 lbs, but for those of us chasing "The Big One" it's 12 lbs.

Cast upstream and work the lure towards you. Generally, the predators face upstream and feed as the bait comes to them.

I don't keep ANY other bass, but I keep and give away EVERY spot I catch. Bank fisherman appreciate my generosity, but otherwise I would throw them up onto the bank. No mercy.

I took your advice many years ago and still have a few bags of Larew left.

Hmm... I think a lot of lures and techniques are seasonal. A few examples are lipless cranks, square bills, most topwater, jerkbaits and the Alabama Rig. The Rig stands out perhaps the most. I have no idea why it doesn't produce in the summer, but it doesn't for me or anyone I know. Lipless, best in spring and fall. Square bills in late spring/ early summer. Topwater in warmer months. In the summer "moving lures" are a distant second to soft plastics and jigs. Frogs? Almost exclusively summer and heavy cover.

Well, I live in a little community in the Memphis Metropolitan area, Germantown. The town was founded in 1841.
