  3. Southern Fishing Gal, Welcome aboard!
  4. Man, what a fine fish you have there! :Applause:
  5. St. Croix builds great rods! These are mine: AVS66MLF, AVC66MF, AVC70MM, ES70MF and EC70MHF
  6. Outstanding! :D :Applause:
  7. Anyone else fishing this tournament next Saturday?
  8. Norman Fat Boy, Red Ear pattern
  9. Found a 4 pounder floating on the river last weekend. Scooped her up and removed a giant blue gill that was stuck in her mouth. She appeared to be fine as she swam away.
  10. Avid AVC66MF. The tip is soft enough for treble hooks. Mine is a dedicated jerkbait rod, but it is perfect for all the applications you mentioned. Most of my rods are 7', but I really like a shorter rod to work topwater and hard jerkbaits.
  11. The Lake Fork Live Magic Shad is a winner. Pick up a few Swarming Hornets to go with them. When fishing this combination DO NOT lift your rod. Reel fast and let the lure fall on slack line. The blade lifts the bait; pumping your rod simply moves the lure forward.
  12. Pay no attention to this guy, he's a rookie.
  13. GMAN Jigs and Rage Tail Trailer? Man, that's cheat'in! :Applause:
  14. Hmm... Hope it works out for you, but it's nothing I would recommend or even consider. Sounds like junk to me, $30 flushed down the toilet.
  15. Heads up boys and girls! NorthStar Jigs are the real deal.
  16. Things really pick up around mid October. I'm fishing my first money tournament for St. Jude Children's Hospital October 8th. We launch out of McFarland Harbor, below the Wilson Dam. The upper portion of Pickwick generally produces better numbers, but we seem to catch bigger smallmouth below Pickwick Dam. Try to plan your trip, or at least part of it, during the week. Water release is crucial and the TVA is undependable on weekends. If you intend to fish below Pickwick Dam there is a nice public park for camping and ramp that TVA maintains. As far as jig color goes...try what you like, but bring some black with blue trailers, too! I'm going to be swimming your white & silver skirt with Rage Tail Grubs this fall. I also suggest the back half of a Swimming Senko as a trailer.
  17. Just received my order of Hairy Jigs yesterday. They are perfect! I hope the Tennessee River smallmouth agree. :D
  18. Strip your line and throw it away. I have been broken off once in the last ten years...no excuse in open water on the Tennessee River...Yo-Zuri Hybrid #6 for spinning tackle, #12 for baitcasters. Minnows = #4 Gamakatsu Octopus Circle Hooks.
  19. Rage Tail Baby Craw, split shot rig, #2 thin wire bait hook, #6 Yo-Zuri Hybrid on spinning tackle Rage Tail Lizard, C-rigged, 3/0 thin wire hook Fat Ika, skirt up and weightless 3 1/2" Mizmo Smalljaw Tube or Gitzit 5" Senko, weightless
  20. What's the mystery? We have seen a few big smallmouth posted recently. I'm sure everyone would like to see yours posted, too.
  21. Tupperware container. Cheap and 100% waterproof! :D
