  6. Hite won at Pickwick this year fishing the Berkley Hollow Belly exclusively. http://blogs.tcpalm.com/ed_killer/2011/04/team-evinrudes-davy-hite-wins-bassmaster-elite-on-pickwick-denny-brauer-third.html
  7. Hmm... I does not suck to be you... Have fun at ICAST. p.s. I have that same shirt you are wearing in the pic... However, I do not have the same fish. As always, BEST WISHES to you and yours!
  8. POS and a complete waste of money. You have been around here long enough to know better. Why would you waste your money on something like that?
  9. $150-$175 in 9/10 shape (cosmetic/ mechanical)
  10. Just ordered a few swim jigs. Shipping is free with orders over $50.
  11. Wow! Great review and advice. :Applause:
  12. Sounds like a great trip.
  13. Great story, beautiful pic! Next time start taking the Drammamine two days before going out.
  14. WOO-HOO! Congratulations! :Applause:
  15. I just do it for fun, I'm round enough. 17 rigs and looking for my next one. Maybe we don't really "need" technique specific rods and reels, but they sure are a joy to collect!
  16. GLX MBR844C or the BCR854 will make you very happy.
  17. I own more St. Croix than G. Loomis because of the "value" for certain technique specific rods. For your application I would go with the Loomis flippin' stick.
  18. The Avid AVC70MM is the ticket. MSRP is above your target, but with a little effort and shopping around, you might be able to pick one up for about $125 delivered. I have this rod matched to a CH 50MG and it is THE BOMB!
  19. Well now BASSclary... I'll give credit where credit is due. Your advice and instructions are spot on. Good job!
  20. New rod and reel required. For this application I think braided line is probably the ticket. I'm fishing Fireline Braid and like it just fine.
  21. My jig and weighted soft plastics rods are the MBR 844C and BCR 854. You asked about smaller baits which is why I suggested the MBR 842. I use it for small swimbaits: Shadalicious, Berkley Hollow Belly and Swim Senko. I think the MBR842 is the right rod for 1/4 and 3/8 oz swimming jigs.
  22. No. The hybrid is a meanmouth and are quite rare. These are all smallmouth, just HUGE!
  23. Tatsu is THE BOMB! Otherwise, Seaguar InvizX #10 for spinning gear, #12 AbrazX for baitcasters.
