  1. I smoked a pork butt today
  2. I try make any repairs myself if I can. With the internet and all the instructional videos on YouTube makes it pretty easy. 2 weeks ago my dryer quit heating. Googled the problem, watched a video on how to take the dryer apart. Bought a new heating element and in less than 2 hours had it fixed. 3 year old Vizio Tv quit working last year. I watched a video , ordered a $90 power board and had that fixed in about 30 minutes.
  3. I use 2 on 2 off most of the time. Turn the external brake all the way up, then lower it a little at a time until you start backlashing, then turn it back up a little.
  4. Spro for me. Good quality hooks, tuned out of the box. Not cheap but worth it to me. 6th Sense would be my 2nd choice.
  5. I’ve used apple for ribs and it’s good, I like Hickory better though.
  6. I use that rod for lipless and shallow diving crankbaits
  7. I use mine mostly for 1/4 and 3/8 ounce jigs. Also have used it a few times with 1/8 and 3/16 texas rigs and it worked well. I love mine, very light and sensitive. I have a Chronarch mgl on mine.
  8. I smoked a brisket yesterday.
  9. I've used the Owner and Berkley jigs since I started this thread and they work well. I think the reason I couldn't get a good hookset is because I'm pretty sure it was small Bluegill hitting it. I caught some bass on my remaining Shroomz and after catching a few bass the weedguard pretty much gets destroyed. Also the hooks break too easy pulling snags loose.
  10. I’ve tried a bunch of fluorocarbon lines and I prefer P-Line Tactical on baitcasters and Sniper for spinning.
  11. I bought the cheapest lawn mower battery Walmart sells for around 30$ last year for my fish finder and it works great.

Hank is my 8 month old Husky/German Shepherd mix.
  13. I started out with a 30lb trolling motor and that worked fine unless the wind was blowing. I upgraded to a 55 and like that better. I use a group 29 everstart maxx battery from Walmart and I’ve never ran out of juice on the water.
  14. The Shenandoah river is your best bet for that area. At one time it was one of the top 10 smallmouth rivers in the country, not sure about now.
  15. If you look around you should be able to find a Diawa Tatula rod on sale that is in your price range. They're a lot lighter and sensitive than the rods you mentioned.
  16. That’s the exact same thing I caught my 8.4 PB on back in 97.
  17. Doesn't bother me. Ours doesn't have much selection and I'd rather support my local shop.
  18. I can’t imagine fishing without crankbaits. I always have at least 3 tied on in my boat.
  19. I have a couple of each and I like both of them but I prefer the SV. After a couple years of hard use the SV feels smoother. In fact, I like my SV better than my Chronarch MGL.
  20. I use a CTEK 4.3 charger on my Pond Prowlers battery. It chargers in stages and one of the stages it desulfinates the battery. I leave it hooked up 24/7 when not fishing . I've been using it since I bought the battery new almost 4 years ago and it still holds a good charge.
  21. Chatterbaits. Fished them every type of way and can't catch a cold with one. After I lost my last one I told myself no more.
