Red Worms
A Red Shad Berkley power worm has always been productive for me.

Lowrance vs. Humminbird down imaging issues
I would check the Lowrance’s transducer and make sure it is level.

50 dollars off any reel , what woulld you choose ?
I’d get one of the Tatulas or a Zillion depending on how much extra money I had to spend. If money was tight I’d definitely get the Fuego for $25.

fish scale
You can test your scales by lifting a gallon jug of water. It should weigh around 8.34 lbs.

Is anyone else getting tired of the Squad?
I was tired of them after I watched about 30 seconds of one of their videos.

Lowrance vs. Humminbird down imaging issues
Yes. It happened to me once a few weeks ago. I was in about 2ft of water when it happened. I didn’t have to turn the unit off though. It straightened itself out once I got back into about 4ft of water.

Do you prefer to fish alone??
I always fish alone. In fact, to me one the best things about fishing is getting away from people. After working in the big city all week there’s nothing better than being alone in my boat, just me and the great outdoors.

Tatula CT vs. New Tatula 100
SV’s can be bought for $167 on EBay. I doubt he wants a SV because they are the same size frame as CT. He’s looking for a smaller, more palmable reel, which would be the 100.

Lowrance vs. Humminbird down imaging issues
Humminbirds imaging is a lot better than Lowrance, especially in shallow water. I bought an Elite 7 TI a few months ago and wish I would have spent the extra money on a Humminbird or either bought another Garmin.

Tatula CT vs. New Tatula 100
I’ve only used my 100 a few times. The CT feels better in my hands, but that could be because I’m not used to using a reel as small as the 100. As previously stated, they both feel the same on cast and retrieve. For $109 at SO , the Tat 100 is a great deal. I wouldn’t pay retail of $150 for one though, I’d spend the money on a SV.

Rudder for jon boat
They make one called the Bullnose rudder. You could probably clamp it onto a piece of pipe or find an old trolling motor.

Favorite reel for cranking $100-$150
Daiwa Tatula CT 100P 5.5 is a good one.

Deep Cycle Battery Recommendations
I have an Everstart Maxx group 29 on my Pond Prowler. You can't beat them for the price.($100) . Plus if you have a warranty problem Walmarts are everywhere. I've had mine close to 4 years and it's still holding a charge.

Your Favorite Crank Bait Rod (1/2 oz. 1.5 Square Bills and 1/2 oz. Red Eye Shads) ?
I use a 7’ Daiwa Tatula M/R for lipless cranks and a Powell 755cb for Squarebills.

Shimano svs vs daiwa magforce z
Magforce Z by a long shot. My Daiwas are a lot easier to set up and use than my Shimano’s.

What would you buy?
Daiwa Tatula 7'1 Mh/f

Ashamed to say...
I’ve been trying different retrieves with no luck. I haven’t given up on it yet though.

Ashamed to say...
I can’t catch a bass on a chatterbait. I’ve been throwing one for about a hour every time I’ve been fishing for the past few months and getting nothing. Have no trouble with a spinnerbait though.

Pond Prowler has become very heavy. (water in hull?)
Turn it upside down. The water will drain out. I have to do mine every couple months or so.
-
Tatula XT spinning rod bought as combo. Good rod?
The Tatula has a different blank than the XT. Tatula has a SVF blank and XT is has a HVF blank.

Need an electric motor for a 12ft jon boat
The 45 will work just fine.

Need an electric motor for a 12ft jon boat
I started out with a 30 lb on my 10 foot Pond Prowler. It worked fine when the water was calm but if it got windy and the water was choppy it felt like i was sitting still when moving. I upgraded to a 55 and I'm much happier now. A 55 only goes under 1 mph faster than a 30, but you can really feel the difference in rougher water. I would go 55 if you can afford it.

Understanding the Diawa Reel line-up - when is a Tatula SV a bad idea?
I have a Tat Sv on my lipless crankbait rod. It will bomb a trap just as far as my CT’s and my Shimano Chronarch Ci4 and Mgl.
