Kistler Helium 73LMH
My MH Helium 3 doesnt feel tip heavy to me. Balances real well with a Chronarch MGL. Guides are perfect. A lot better than some of the Loomis NRX rods I've seen pictures of. I'd return it for another one. Every manufacturer has a defect every now and then.

Spinning Cranking Rod
St Croix makes a Mojo Bass medium spinning glass crankbait rod. Rated up to 3/4 ounce. $149. It's only 7'2" though .

Fine tuning a baitcaster
Diawa reels should have the spool tension loose enough to have a little side play. My Shimano’s I adjust the spool tension according to the lure weight.

Kistler helium 3, ALX ZOLO , Shimano Zodias ??
Another vote for the Helium 3. I don’t like fat grips either and the H3 has a very comfortable grip and is super light and sensitive.

How does the Daiwa Tatula 100 compare to the Curado 70?
The 71 weighs 6.5 ounce and the Tatula is 6.9. I doubt you will notice the difference.

Spinning rod love!
I don't hate spinning gear, I just dislike it. I don't throw anything light enough to need spinning gear. I'm a lot more accurate with a bc plus it's a pain having to flip the bail and spinning reels take up too much room on the boat deck.

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
Yes it’s carpeted 1/2” plywood. Don’t have the dimensions with me. I had to trace the front and cut it because it gets narrower at the bow.

Shimano rods
I had a 6’ 10” MH Crucial that got broke in the bed of my truck a couple of years ago. It was my first good rod and I remember being blown away the first time I used it because it was so light and sensitive. I’m still kicking myself for not getting it replaced for half price under the warranty.

I’d get the Tatula as well. They’re on sale at Sportsman’s Outfitters

Side to side spool play with the "knock"
On my Daiwas I set the spool tension loose enough to where it knocks. On my Shimano Chronarchs I have to set it so the lure drops slowly or it will backlash.

Shimano Curado K vs lews bb1 pro vs Daiwa tatula
Tatula for me. Like mentioned before they are a lot easier to dial in than Shimano.
