Log Catcher

I go through the fishing section on most trips to Wal Mart. That is where I first bought Mepps Spinners after several threads on here about them. Have caught several fish with them so I guess it pays to hit the fishing section.

I haven't spent a lot of time checking it out but from what I see the old site was much better.

I am hoping somebody can tell me if the Daiwa Procaster is a decent rod. I do plan to put a spinning reel on it and try it. If it is a good rod I want my wife to use it and see if she is comfortable using a 6'6" rod. I checked and the other two are cheap kids combos. I plan to check them out and give the one good rod and reel to my wifes great nephew. He lives right by a creek and loves to fish.

Got to get out and go fishing yesterday. Got to the ramp and pulled off to the side to get everything ready. There was a fellow parked behind us cleaning out a trailer in to the garbage cans. He came up to us and said he hadn't been fishing in 10 or 15 years and didn't know if he would ever go again. He then leaned 3 rod and reel combos on the tailgate. Said he found them in a storage building he was cleaning out. He then said happy birthday and walked off. I was really surprised but did say thank you. All 3 had spincast reels on them. They are all 2 piece rods. One is 5'6", one is 6'0" and broken about 15" from the tip. The one that got my attention is 6'6" Daiwa Procaster spinning rod.It still had the tags on it and the plastic still covering the cork handle. It has a model # PR-S662MFS-B. I would like to know if this is a good rod and any info anybody can give me on it. The fishing wasn't great. We had several bites but they just wouldn't take it. I finally caught a SMB, a Spotted Bass, and a Bream.

I have caught a lot of bass on short arm single Colorado blade spinnerbait over the years. I can't get a fish to look at one with a single willow leaf blade on it. I threw one this past week and no bites on it. I have never thrown an A rig.

Glad everything turned out okay for her and hope she continues to improve. I think it was on here there was a thread about how heart problem symptoms in women were very different than mens.

I have two desktop computers. One on Windows 10 and one on Windows 7. The Bass Resource menu doesn't work on either one of them. I have cleared the cache on both of them and it makes no difference. I have been on here for several years and never had this problem before. I also find it interesting this is happening to so many of us and all about the same time.

I am having the same problem. I have been clicking on the the giveaways heading and then going to the menu. Then it works like it is supposed to and I can get in to the forum topics. This has been happening for several days now. I thought something was going wrong with my internet service.

I usually throw mine on a spinning rod Texas rigged and using 1/16oz sinker. I have never tried splitting the the tail to see how that worked.

I also use Rod Glove covers on all my rods.

I have never caught a bass on a Rattle Trap. I have never caught a bass on a wacky rig. I have never caught a double. I have never caught a bass on a Ned rig. This is just for starters. There are many more. I guess @Texas Flood must be a brother to @TnRiver46 from another mother.

You must have put this out so @TnRiver46 could learn how to catch fish on a spinnerbait. LOL

When I use black soft plastics I catch SMB. I can't remember ever catching a LMB on black. Black/Blue won't even get a bite for me. I have one crank bait in black. It is the 6th Sense 50X in Black Magic. I haven't used it a lot but so far it hasn't caught anything.

I have ordered from Academy a few times and always had good service with them.

The only time I drink bottled water is when I'm fishing. I have a gallon jug of water plus some bottles in a cooler. Around the house I may not drink much water unless I'm mowing the yard.

I wish I knew when to use them. I bought three packs of the Baby D Bombs and so far I can't get a fish to look at them. I've had far better luck with the Zoom Z Craw Jr which is a similar type bait. I may end up tossing the Baby D Bombs in the trash.

I bring a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a couple of cookies. I also have plenty of water, Gatorade and a thermos jug of iced tea. I usually end up drinking the Gatorade on the way home and then a bottle of water.
