  1. I haven't posted pictures. I'll get it figured out one of these days.
  2. Be kind and respectful. Always clean up after your fishing trip, and remember to close gates etc, if the owner ask you to. I live in a rural area, and most folks are friendly. The main reason some wouldn't want you to fish they're ponds is from bad experiences from other guys in the past. Going on another person's property is a privilege. The owner is trusting you. Make yourself trustworthy.
  3. I could go two years.
  4. Have you checked to make sure your hooks are sharp?
  5. I use Big Game in 12 and 15 lb for casting reels. Spinning reels Im using Yo Zuri Hybrid line in 4 and 6 lb.
  6. We have copperheads here in Missouri. Ive seen them for years. Thankfully we don't have water moccasins. Also have timber rattlesnakes, but they're very rare, and rarely seen.
  7. Baby Brush Hog. Always Texas rigged.
  8. A cabin in the pines, with a small lake to fish. Out in the sticks somewhere.
  9. The main reason I made this post was to get an idea about what others are using. I haven't used a plastic lizard for quite a while. I was going through some of my older stuff and found three bags of Zoom lizards. I had good luck with these years ago. I've got two bags of 6" and one of 4". I'm giving them a shot again this season. It's like finding a brand new bait.
  10. The first time I used a Ned rig, I caught eleven bass in about 30 min from the bank. Later I found a shelf the bass were hanging on with my depth finder. Now, I always fish this spot. That was several years ago.
  11. I don't know of any actual tule dippin rods around now. An old man I knew years ago used a stout cane rod. It needs to have a powerful butt section. These days I would say the longest best flipping stick you could get that wasn't too heavy.
  12. Plastic lizards have always had a reputation for two things: 1. Catching spawning bass. 2. Catching large bass. Are you going to be using any plastic lizards this spring? If so, what size, brand, and colors?
  13. I like Lew's, and have had great luck with an LFS casting reel going on it's third year now. Good gear for the price.
  14. Heddon original Zara Spook in clear color.
  15. I'm taking a course on computers at a local college. Otherwise, ready for fishing.
  16. Yes. We'll have some. We always do on St Patrick's day. I think it's really good.
  17. When I was young, I fished much harder. Sometimes I think I tried too hard. If I got skunked, I'd be bummed out about it. Now, I take my time, and fish at a more leisurely pace. I still want to catch fish, and, I will. But, I don't have to race around trying so hard. I enjoy everything about fishing. For me that means the sights and sounds of the lake.
  18. Good post. I realized that the older I get, the more I enjoy these things. I come to catch fish, but I also enjoy nature and being out there.
  19. The closest thing I keep is avocado/ red flake. It's produced fish in clear water.
  20. I love coffee. I drink roughly a pot of coffee over the course of the day.
  21. I still have some bags of green pumpkin Trick Worms, Finesse Worms and other green pumpkin baits I bought years ago. They never produced well enough for me to keep using them.
  22. Like others have said, I would not finance your boat with a credit card.
  23. Catt, I'm a fan of the Beetle Spin also. It's a good smaller spinner for early in the season here too. Plus, as you know, it was invented by a good Missouri fisherman. Mr. Virgil Ward, another of my heroes.
  24. A #3 or 4 Mepps spinner can be excellent where weeds grow close to the surface. If I can keep it just above the weeds, bass will hit it.
  25. Catt, out of all the baits I have, the simple t rig plastic worm has been the most productive cast to all these areas. I try other things- buzzbaits, poppers, lipless, but the t rig is the best all around. I usually start with a smaller worm and increase in size as summer comes in. It's very hard to beat day in and day out.
