  1. Based on my success the past few years - this is my top 5 techniques. 1: Spinnerbait (avatar pic bass was caught on one) 2: Swim Jig 3: Chatterbait 4: Lipless 5: Ned
  2. Open Water Has Started!!! Running to get dinner, I noticed that the Emerald Channel (between Cooks Bay and Emerald Lake) is open - it's not much, maybe 30 square yards - but it's open water non-the-less.
  3. Past couple weeks - stations by me have been bopping between $2.79 and $3.19
  4. Spool bearing(s) are hit with some 91% Isopropyl to clean it (them) out, then a drop of oil. Worm shaft bearing(s) are left alone until deep-cleaning.
  5. Same thing around here - and occasionally E-Free is less than Ultra-Premium. Of the 6 stations within 2 miles of me, 4 of them have E-Free gas.
  6. You're joking - right Mike? Deep cleaning for me is no part is still in the frame/side plates...all the gears and bearings come out, everything gets cleaned and re-lubed. A quick clean takes 20-30 minutes from starting dis-assembly to everything back together again....a deep clean takes 2 or more hours per reel.
  7. And Fujita-san breaks the century mark.
  8. This year it's just a quick clean and re-lube contrary to a full tear-down. This is how far I bring the reels down for a quick-clean and lube. And the casting reels are done for this year...ready for line Now on to the eight spinning reels...
  9. I see you use the Rapid line clips too - very convenient IMO
  10. I'm about half-done with reel maintenance - finally upgraded my grease from Abu to Cals...reels I've done are soooo much smoother. Trailer mod still needs to be finished - been a bit chilly in the garage to do that, but warmer weather is on the horizon. Boxes are pretty much packed and ready to go into the compartments...but it'll be the panfish gear that gets the first workout - 76 days to bass opener.
  11. In my mind - hockey is nothing more than legalized brawling. Only sport I really follow is The World Cup - everything else is meh.
  12. Ya - the 2000 Shimanos are mostly 'S' models - which is shallow spool, holding the same amount of line as the 1000 size.
  13. You know the winter is getting to him when Andy is dredging up 20 year old threads.
  14. Welcome from a former Bay Stater - born and raised in Worcester...
  15. In your profile, you'll see your current avatar near the top-left - click on the 'mountains' in the bottom left corner... that'll get you to the screen to change your avatar pic.
  16. Ya - I mentioned the 2nd Law earlier in the thread
  17. It's just age - 20 years ago mine was red as well.
  18. MCA is Marine Cranking Amps. That the battery also is labeled Deep Cycle tells me it's a dual use battery - I would use that one as cranking/house battery ( lights, sonar, pumps, etc) and get an identical pair of 75ah-100ah pure deep cycle batteries to run the TM.
  19. Problem is, Yo-Zuri is pretty unique...most hybrid lines are a nylon center with a FC coating, where-as Yo-Zuri actually embeds strands of FC within the nylon.
  20. I know burning hydrogen produces water - I'm talking about getting the hydrogen split from oxygen in the first place so that you can burn it...pre-fueling production, not post fueling usage. Just like generating electricity for the battery vehicles, producing the hydrogen for use in these motors is where the pollution happens. Until we have mass energy production that's clean (nuke, wind, solar, etc), these 'feel good' technologies aren't going to help the pollution problem overall - just make the consumer feel like they're making a difference cause they're not directly contributing to the pollution problem...but they fail to realize that indirectly, they are still.
  21. If you're looking at your entry page - that won't be updated to final standings till this evening...weigh-in is still going on, so rankings on your entry page will change.
  22. Ya - I was kinda worried when I saw that 'The Zal-dangerous one' hadn't posted any catches.
  23. Yamamoto is having a 30% off sale site-wide - code TSS30 at checkout.
