Storage In garage
Non-ventilated, one-car garage is where I keep Bass Trek over the winter. And it gets cold in there, and no problems...It might be a bit warm for yours, but I don't think it'll cause issues with the boat itself...I'd just unload rods and tackle to someplace cooler.

Drop shot reels
Any decent 2000/2500 size reel. Rod I like is my 6'10" (pre-Trigon) Mojo Bass ML/XF

Cranking set ups (line sizes)
8# or 10# Yo-Zuri Hybrid depending on the crank-rig. I've found that YZH is more neutrally buoyant than Nylon or Flouro so the cranks run truer to depth. It's also stronger than rated - the 8# tested by the IGFA actually rated at 12# breaking strength, the 10# rated at 16.5#.

What's for dinner?
One meal Nora and I like...and it's pretty easy 2 pkgs Kraft Mac&Cheese - make per instructions. Add to that 1lb cooked/crumbled ground beef (or pork) 1/2 cup grated parmesan 1&1/2 cup grated cheddar 1 pkg heated mixed veggies. Leftovers make good lunches.

garage heaters- help needed

Winter 2025 ~ 2026
We might have a bit of a melt around late Jan/Early Feb - but the snow and ice never completely goes away until the full spring thaw.

Waypoint Data
They'd have to re-code the base system to accept longer descriptions. When DOS (you know, before Windows) expanded their file-naming conventions - it took thousands of hours of coding work to get it functional. I don't think Garmin/Lowrance/etc want to spend that kind of money/time.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
Right back at-cha, Mike.

Rest in Peace @ WRB-2.0
I just got back from immuno-therapy to see this and it hits hard. Tom has been one of the mainstays of the board, and while he-and-I occasionally disagreed, we always did so with respect and honor. Losing Tom is gonna leave a very large hole in the ranks. "Come from star-dust, return to star-dust. May your spirit happily wander the universe."

Going finesse for 2026
@gim has this (unhealthy) aversion to drop-shot fishing despite it being a fish catcher....no idea where he developed it, but treatment IS available as I don't live far from him. 😆

Why BC reels Not Shimano/Daiwa are No-Go's?
Lews, KastKing, even older Pflueger's are in my line-up....Daiwa and Shimano are good, just not "only them and no others" good IMO.

Soft plastic sorting schemes
Original bags, or replacement bags from here - boxed in Plano 3607-10 or 3707-10 by type. Sometimes more than one per box - like Chigger Craws and Pitt Boss in one - all 4 sizes of Zoom Brush Hog in another - etc.

Kayakers why?
Heck - Bass Trek can get me where I need to go, got what I need to find them....and I think I've got a grand total of $4k into it.

The latest sale thread
I got turned off to Omnia when they had their Woo Tungsten sale a couple weeks back. 2/3 of the weights/styles I wanted were Out Of Stock...with no backorder. How can you have a sale when half the stock you put on discount isn't available?

BPS Shakey Heads.
I guess I'm contrary - I specifically make sure it's got a screw-lock before I order.

Shaky Head popularity?
My two best catchers this past year were a 1/16oz shaky with Zoom Finesse Worm, or a 1/8oz shaky with a Zoom Trick Worm.

Your Main Reason For Using Fluorocarbon Line?
Since it's not as stretchy as nylon, it does transmit vibration along it's length even when semi-slack.

Medium/Light - Moderate spinning rod ----- seeking recommendations
^ Nope - since I was shorebound almost all season, it was all finesse with spinning gear. Even the one boat trip, we stuck with finesse...so the Black Bass hasn't been de-virginated yet.

Medium/Light - Moderate spinning rod ----- seeking recommendations
I've got the Panfish, actually.

iPhone Update
I started Android - never looked back. My Galaxy phones and Tablets have been rock-solid and dependable.
