  1. Well take back your weather - we don't want it up here.
  2. Normally I dislike tribute songs - but this one struck a chord with me first time I heard it cause I know the story behind it.
  3. Given that during this heat wave, I don't dare go out more than 1/2 hour or risk heat exhaustion...I'd love a happy medium.
  4. That'd make a good pitching reel - really any quality reel in the 7.5 to 8.? will work...I just like the 8-ratios for that personally.
  5. Thinner braid has a habit of digging in on BC reels which can result in backlashes even with 'perfect' casts. Thinnest I'll go on a BC is 30#...though I have run 20# in the past, but it was 'iffy'.
  6. I don't have a specific flip/pitch rig - but what I use is a Fuego CT-XS 8.1:1 with 50# braid.
  7. After what he did yesterday on that one school, I knew that if he found one or two schools today he was going to blow the others out of the water. Go KVD!
  8. Like I said earlier - it'd have to be under $10k...so that limits the years. Ya, this is a tiller. Of course, the wife comes home from a 3-week stay at the hospital and there some specialized care she's gonna need going forward for a few months - $500 a month after insurance. So the boat purchase has to be put off for this year. Next spring I'll start looking again. Thanks for all the insight, guys.
  9. The Supreme will do exactly what you want - no need for a new reel...spend the extra on a really good rod.
  10. Contact Triton, ask them what the OEM prop was - diameter, # of blades and pitch.
  11. Well, you're a mad-man on a skateboard...so ya, I can see you signing up for this.
  12. Ya - crazy Yoopers...
  13. Snow Blower Snowmobile - this from the state where Arctic Cat and Polaris started.
  14. I've used my Patriarch (dual braking system) without thumbing. BUT I always have my thumb ready - just in case. Learn to use the thumb...the next back-lash you might prevent may be your own.
  15. New notice in my Inbox Omnia has all Rage Craws on sale for 25% off till Thursday midnight - while supplies last...so no backorders.
  16. I've got FC as mainline on 3 of my BC rigs. As people have said, get a quality FC (I've got InvizX and Tatsu), use KVD L&L, and learn how to undo bird's nests carefully. The 'crank down the drag, hold your thumb on the spool and reel it in' method is great for braid, lousy for FC and even Mono as it'll put kinks in the line - and a kink on FC is a 'death sentence'.
  17. Given how the 15# has worked on my MH/F BC rig - I'd go Tatsu as well...but I'm not made of money. I can get 12# and under InvizX local for $20 a spool without a sale (it's their normal price).
  18. I've got straight FC on three of my spinning rigs 1000-reel, ML/MF rod - 6# InvizX 2000-reel, M/F rod - 8# InvizX 2000-reel MH/MF rod - 8# InvizX I did a full treat with KVD while spooling up, and touch-ups with KVD night before fishing trips. So far I've had no issues - I'm really happy with it. Good quality line, treat with KVD - should have no issues using FC on spinning gear...just don't go too high in line diameter...pound test doesn't matter, it's the diameter on spinning reels that matter.
  19. So you're 40% sane - sounds about right.
  20. That has a much better chance to manage it...I've got 12# YZH on my main crank-rig...it's a good line.
  21. This ain't even a normal Minnesota summer. Normal summer we average 11 days of 90+ ALL SUMMER. We're gonna beat that before middle of June.
  22. Shore fishing + Spinning tackle + 6# test + Heavy 'cabbage' = recipe for disaster. Really, trying to keep it from diving into the weeds is your only option with that rig. If it dives into the weeds, write it off - it's not coming out anytime soon. With heavier gear, you could horse it out - but we're talking at least 20# braid...which a spinning rig can handle - but that medium-power rod might not be up to the task...I've got 20# on spinning, but it's a medium-heavy rod.
  23. I just watched a report by a local semi-pro...according to him, the bass are already moving into summer pattern on many lakes in the metro...post-spawn period was extremely short. I think fishing musky summer pattern would be your best bet.
  24. Well, I got a small house so I have to find space for storage where I can.
