  1. There’s so many topwater baits to choose from it gets confusing. I see pro tour guys throwing a buzz toad here and a regular buzz bait there or a Whopper Plopper over yonder. Let’s not forget the hollow body frog there or a popping hollow body frog or one like a Zoom/Yum solid plastic frog. Oh, there’s the traditional walk the dog bait plus popper. What products and colors do you throw and where do you throw it? I think with frogs, I’ve heard get a light and a dark. Does that work for the other baits?
  2. Holy carp. Thanks for posting that. Ott Defoe and Randy Howell are gonna be at my local BPS for a whatever.
  3. When I fish a spinning rod, I use my right hand to cast, right hand to reel, and left hand to hold on to the rod. This is similar to how I fish with my baitcasters. Does anybody else do this? Is there a reason people reel left handed and hold the rod with your right hand?
  4. This is my go-to Senko.
  5. I didn’t realize that about the colors. Berkly used to have a hand poured worm very similar to the current Zoom Z3 Swamp Crawlers. Very small profile, supple feeling plastic, very reactive to any sort of current or shake in the rod tip. Oxblood Red for me always would produce. I hope to see if a trick worm or Senko in that same color will produce this year.
  6. What colors of vibrating jig or swim jig do y’all use?
  7. What’s the word on JP and the football team for this off season?

Does anybody know what all of the letters mean on their crankbaits?
  9. Do you have a color combination in each of your soft plastics that out fishes the same color of another lure? Like watermelon red is the best trick worm color while June bug catches more of your craw dad fish? Also, does anybody use motor oil and chartreuse anymore? That used to be a big color a few decades ago.
  10. I haven’t had any success with a lot of colors, so I know it’s me and not the color.
  11. Looks like I need to catch up with some Blanton’s when I get home. I used to use whatever Walmart stocked back in the early to mid 90s and would catch a lot of panfish, so maybe I was using very light/small lures. But, then again I was 5. I’ve thought about trying some of the larger sizes for bass in the prespawn if some of my other lures don’t produce any given day.
  12. I use Yamamoto Senkos, Zoom trick ribbon tail and finesse worms, Net baits craws/chunks, and Berkley beavers.
  13. Jordan Lee pulls off the 3-peat with KVD in 2nd and Aaron Martens in 3rd. A-Mart doesn’t win a classic before switching to MLF.
  14. I’ve always wanted a G Loomis, so I used gift cards to finally buy me a shaky head rig.
  15. I believe they’ll have it on their website for the actual 2019 schedule, so Jan 29 is the first day of the first tournament.
  16. Usually use a War Eagle stand up in 3/16 or a Z-Man mushroom finesse in a lighter weight. Maybe 1/15 or 1/10? I like to skip them under docks.
  17. They were making the reels for Cabela’s. Now they’ll be making the spinning reels for Bass Pro, I assume partly due to the merger.
  18. @ReggieT I graduated from UAB earlier this decade, myself. I’ve had some success using a black or a watermelon candy baby brush hog. Where are y’all usually fishing at?
  19. I want to say that he takes a 5 hour energy and several caffeinated drinks before he tapes his shows. He probably doesn’t need to shake his rod tip when he fishes a shaky head since he’s already vibrating.
  20. I had a bad year, also. I caught less than 10 fish all year. My my biggest bass was around 6.5lbs and was caught on a weightless Zoom fluke.
  21. I’m not in South Alabama, east central so I may be too far north for you.
  22. How is this stuff for crappie? I never really fished for crappie before, don’t even know if I have caught one before. Probably not. I have some 1/16th and 1:8th jig heads, shad, scissor shad, sausage, joker, and looks like tubes. Black/chart, white/chart, bubblegum/chart, pearl, pearl/chart, pearl and blue/black Also, I have a Zebco 33 combo, would that be ok for a rod?
  23. Well, never mind then. I thought it was a freshwater rod.
  24. Has anybody fished with a Shimano Terez spinning rod? 7’2” Medium/fast Bass Pro has them on sale for the same price as the St. Croix Avid X I am looking at.
