A Rattling Crankbait?
Instead of trying to find a louder bait,’you might want to try using a bait that’s more visible. Chrome or silver might be seen more easily than heard over the ambient noise. Hope you find something that works for you

Fishing with a friend with Covid-Like symptoms.
If your friend took a “home” COVID test, suggest that he gets a “real” test. The home tests are known to give false negatives. Better to be safe than sorry

2 weird things happened to me yesterday.
When a bass just has the tail in its mouth and starts swimming, the hook is next to its head. The hookset embeds the hook in the head/face. 2. The bass. could have just had the tail of the finger in its mouth, without being hooked. If that was the case, you pulled hard enough to pull the bait out of the rings.

What to throw?
The fish can give you a better answer than anyone on this forum. Let them tell you what to use. Try different baits until you start catching them.

Ulterra cam magnet assembly
That would be my first choice but some people aren’t close enough to a repair station.

Ulterra cam magnet assembly
Have you tried contacting Minnkota? Call an authorized Minnkota repair person. They might be willing to help you solve your problem. Since this is a warranty issue, you probably don’t want to have to send it to get repaired as it will probably cost you $100 each way

Best Finesse Rig for Fishing Rocks
When I fish rocks, I use a small ribbed swim bait on a 1/32z or 1/64z head with exposed hook, on 4# line. I don’t swim it, just let it slowly fall on a slack line. You have to be a line watcher using this method. Most of the time I just see the line twitch. This rig isn’t heavy enough to get easily hung up in the rocks.

Anyone have a Basscat?
I offered advice, his choice not to take it. I’m not going to bring the subject up to him again.

Anyone have a Basscat?
I talked to him again. He accepted the owner’s answer of there was nothing that could be done, so he ordered a matching rim for $250. The owner said he will take care of him and mount/balance it for free. I can’t believe my friend doesn’t want to pursue this issue. He got mad when I told him when he picks up the new rim, don’t forget to ask for the jar of vaseline

Anyone have a Basscat?
A friend bought a new Basscat about 6 months ago. A couple of weeks ago he took the cover off the spare and the rim didn’t match the ones on the trailer. The dealer told him his contract said he was getting a “spare” tire and they said there was nothing else they could do. They told him he could buy another matching rim. They wouldn’t contact Basscat. He contacted them and so far has gotten no response. This is unacceptable. Anyone else have this problem or know if anyone else who has? Needless to say, he’s not happy.

Airbrush for beginners
I would buy the compressor separately. Most compressors that are bundled with an airbrush aren’t very strong. I suggest looking at the Master G233 airbrush for $39 and the Master compressor TC-320 for $89. Both are on Amazon. Hope this helps

Pencil poppers
They are similar. The SB throws more water than a pencil popper
-
Pencil poppers
The in-line hook has a better hook up ratio than a treble hook. There’s also less chance of a fish throwing a single hook. Also,a lot less time spent getting untangled if you use a net.
-
Pencil poppers
The large Evergreen SB is a better choice than a pencil poppper. You can also cast it easily in wind and you can work it in more ways than a pencil popper

Teckle Kicknocker.
The River2Sea River is a similar bait. It’s an Vixen knock off and has a more durable paint job. It’s one of, if not the easiest , walking baits to use.

Hook set
Check out You Tube and learn how to reel set. That should help you solve the problem. You won’t have to worry about setting the hook on slack line. Hope this helps

Personal best Black crappie
You can get an idea if how big this is by comparing the size of the mouth to his hand.

Jointed glidebait
Use a small brush and be careful. You don’t need to cover every bit of plastic sound the hinges. Better to not use enough than to glue the hinges.

Karens & Kens confronting you when fishing!
I’ve been approached by homeowners when fishing around their docks. If they ask me not to fish, I’ll move on. Not because they’re right, but I go fishing to relax and have a good time. I’m not there to confront anyone and maybe escalate a situation that could get out of hand. There’s no need for me to waste my time trying to inform them of the laws. There’s plenty of other places to fish. By arguing with them, you become part of the problem

Keitech jigheads
My friends and I use the simple dart heads. That cost .70 each. We haven’t found a need to use the higher priced, fancy heads. The fish don’t care. YMMV
