  1. Have you tried calling an authorized Minnkota repair shop? If this is a common problem, chances are they have dealt with it and can let you know what you're looking at, as far as repairs, costs. Good luck
  2. This may or may not affect your decision.I would be concerned about availability of parts further down the road https://www.outdoorhub.com/news/2020/05/28/evinrude-discontinued-brb-says-will-no-longer-make-evinrude-outboard-boat-engines/
  3. How tall are you? My friend has a dual console 519.I'm 6'3" and i can't sit straight forward in either seat. I would try to get compression reading for both outboards if you could. You could ask the seller to text/email it to you. No sense in looking at th boat if he motor needs major work
  4. I would stay away from a light wire A-rig. The arms will get bent easily and it will be hard to straighten them so they run correctly. IMO, there is nothing "finesse" about an A-rig. This is the biggest argument against fish being line/hook shy.
  5. There's a few plastic ones that work good, and they're relatively inexpensive. If you want one of the first ones that hit the market and the one almost all of the others are designed from, get one of these. They won't break and will last forever https://www.cabelas.com/product/Original-Boga-Grip/734456.uts

I forgot the name of them, but they are discontinued Sorry, I was thinking of Trapper hooks.
  7. Your going to need plastisol, molds, coloring, glitter and bags to pack them. Production will be low if you only have one or two molds for each bait. You can buy a lot of baits for the price it's going to cost to get started. Have fun
  8. A 3"-5" curly tail grub on a 1/8" dart head. Cast it out and just swim it back, keeping it off the bottom
  9. I swap out the hooks with inline hooks and shave the lower lip so it will "skip" easier instead of digging in the water. the action imitates a fleeing baitfish
  10. Check out Anderson in Morgan Hill. Coyote, Uvas and Chesbro in the Gilroy area.
  11. I have a tree in the front yard. Everything that I've recovered while fishing, from lures to anchors, marker buoys, rods/reels, is hung from the tree, no matter what condition it's in. I have lures hanging that don't have a mark on them. The only exception is the high end rod and reel I snagged. The rod was broken but held together by the line. The reel is in the tree, but i cleaned up the rod and sent it in for warranty.
  12. If there's trout in the lake, get a couple of 6"-8" trout swim baits. The bigger fish are used to eating trout.
  13. I used to have similar problems when fishing the smaller baits and small treble hooks. Here's how I solved it.
  14. See if they is an authorized Ranger repair shop in your area. The local one has all the glitter. But, any repair shop should have glitter. good luck
  15. 1/32 oz worm nose head and a 4" hand poured worm in Morning Dawn
  16. Not familiar with Lews, but the Chronarch is a great reel
  17. I would go with the Chronarch but I would get a Gloomis GLX over the E6 BTW, if you guys break up, give me a call. LOOOOOL
  18. Lowrance is to tell you to take it to an authorized Ghost repair shop. They will tell you a list of nearby shops. They've "trained" a bunch of people to work on the motors. The problem is there might not be an authorized repair shop close to you. In that case, you will have to ship it. Hopefully you can get Lowrance to pay for shipping as it won't be cheap. Good luck, and let us know the outcome
  19. My experience is 99% spotted bass, fishing anywhere from 15-50 feet. When I release a fish, I drop them close to the trolling motor, so I can watch them on my electronics. Almost all of them head straight down to the bottom. If they are sending some kind of distress or warning signal, none of the other bass are listening, as the bite doesn't stop or slow down immediately after. I've released 30 bass in one spot while they continued to bite.
  20. Uncle Josh has gone out of business and a ton of people used their product. A lot of people will buy them when available. If you can get 100 jars, I would go for it. You should be able to sell them
  21. very little, if at all
  22. I got the shrink wrap at Mudhole and used a heat gun to shrink it. Be careful, it doesn't take much to get it to shrink. Measure your handles with a caliper and get the size a little bigger, and it will fit nice and snug.
