  1. I had a similar experience. I slammed the door on 3 IMX rods, all the same model. I used the expeditor program and sent $100 for each rod. My rods came back with a note. The IMX rods were no longer made so they upgraded me to GLX. The rods were 2 inches longer, but no big deal
  2. I had a similar experience. I slammed a door on 3 of my IMX rods. They were the same model. I used the $100 expeditor plan on each rod. Got the rods back with a note inside. Those rods were discontinued so the upgraded me to the GLX model. The G:X were 2" longer, no big deal
  3. I put shrink wrap on the handles of a few of my rods too. Not because the cork was bad, but to keep the cork clean, so i don't have to keep cleaning it. The X's are raised so they don't slip
  4. I'm using this rod, with a CI4 1000, but the 2500 would be just fine. It's a light rod, but has plenty of backbone. I'm using 15# braid with a 4# flourocarbon leader https://www.americanlegacyfishing.com/g-loomis-trout-panfish-spinning-fishing-rod-sr781-1-imx.html
  5. My guess is the guy was trying to politely tell you to stop "bothering" him. I don't mind someone asking me what's going on, i'm don't need/want him to come up to me every time he sees me. As someone else mentioned, talked to me at the dock or in the parking lot
  6. get a cheap one from Walmart, don't use the one you use for food
  7. I use the 130 and catch lots of spotted bass on it. My go to color is "I Know It"
  8. My local Dollar Tree has soft plastic shoe boxes with snap on lids. These will hold quite of few clamshells
  9. Try using a glide bait. They run shallow and you should be able to retrieve it without hitting the bottom
  10. If there's a Sign-A-Rama store near you, check them out. They did a friends truck and boat. A lot cheaper than a "specialized" shop and both turned out great
  11. I don't want to rub/spray chemicals on my skin, so I use Skin So Soft by Avon. It has a nice pleasant smell and it's good for your skin. Keeps the bugs off. Your wife/gf might have a bottle around.
  12. I use them for wacky rigging, they work great. You just have to reel set, no back breaking hook set. I use them weightless and with a ball head on them. They won't be as effective on cranks as they won't sit straight. Due to the hook eye, they will sit to one side. If you want to swap out the trebles, I would suggest using inline hooks.
  13. spray your new baits with this. 2-3 light coats.
  14. Here's an easy way to put a protective coating on your lures. Remove the hooks and tape up the lip before you spray. One or two light coats will be enough and it won't change the action of the bait. It will also help prevent hook rash.
  15. you can always try swapping out the trebles for inline hooks
  16. Yes, I pour them. They weigh 2.3 ounces.
  17. They are effective on a ball head jig and work well on an underspin
  18. Here's the fluke I and a couple of friends throw. This has produced some giant bass for us.
  19. Here's a way to get your fish to come out nice and brown and crunchy. You need 3 small bowls. One with a couple of beat up eggs, one with Panko bread crumbs, and one with RICE flour, NOT everyday flour. Mx a tablespoon of Old Bay Seasoning in the rice flour. Rinse your fillets and pat dry with a paper towel. Coat them with the rice flour mix. Make sure you cover everything. Dredge the fillet in the egg wash, again making sure you cover everything. Cover the fillet with the Panko. Pat it down so it sticks. 370 degrees, 6-8 minutes per side. Make your own tartar sauce. It will be brown and crunchy when they're done
  20. I brought my spare spool with me when I picked up my meds. I asked if they had a bigger bottle to fit. She said no problem and asked how many I wanted. No charge
  21. I'm using a GLoomis GLX 802. I use it for jerk baits and topwater

  23. Don't know what size you wear, but there were some on Amazon
  24. You're welcome. If you get a pair, your feet will thank you
  25. Check out Soft Science shoes. They're made for fishing. They are lightweight and comfortable and they feel like wearing slippers. The toe box is big, letting your toes spread out when you stand. Standing with your toes crammed together is what makes your feet hurt https://1800gear.com/softscience/
