  1. This is the very reason there aren't just 5 colors in every soft plastic. Its a neat experiment that always yields different results for different individuals and sometimes for the same individual in the same conditions. In my opinion, most people give bass to much credit. But what fun would it be if we only had 5 colors to choose from?? Thanks for sharing ...and please continue to post your results!
  2. Put me in the Cuda braided line scissors group. I also have some little nippers that work great as well.
  3. Just took all mine off the hot garage wall and into a shoe box inside the house.
  4. Nothing from this era that isn't already expensive. Most manufacturers right now make reels with the expectation of a 3-5 year life with standard use. Not to cut cost, or create higher turn.....but because that is what the current consumer is satisfied with these days. Long gone are the days you bought a reel with the expectation that you would be handing it down to your son one day. There are exceptions to all the above....I am just lumping together most $39-$200 reels on market right now.
  5. Wow a Paw Paw Wotta frog! No telling how long that things been out there. Might be the 1940's era
  6. What kinda frog are you using?
  7. Either not enough topcoat or the screws were over torqued and caused the initial paint crack....that ran.
  8. I'm digging those low profile plano boxes. As I condense and minimalize my stuff even more I need to consider something like that. I think I saw Diawa has released some lo pro boxes as well. My goal is to get everything I need both fresh/salt into 1 backpack. And that 1 backpack accounts for ALL species salt and fresh.
  9. This is where I am at in life. I try to go fishing daily after work as a part of my mindfulness training. I have actually found I do a lot better relaxing watching a bobber or tossing bait on the bottom for cats and waiting for the rod to double over....than bassfishing with lures. Seems like I can sit there and solve nearly all of lifes daily questions just staring at the rod or bobber, and being mindful of the birds and wildlife around me as well. Really helps to wind down after a long stressful day.
  10. yes ..slightly.
  11. Used nightcrawlers yesterday with the kiddo and caught some small largemouth bass. The only issue I have with using them for bass is that if you are in a perch filled area....the perch will pick your hook clean before the bass can get to it. (and won't get hooked).
  12. Mainly because not many people request that in-depth of info. If they did, it would become a packaging standard. Also too much info can make your packaging very busy and thus confusing. IPT wasn't a thing...until it was, and now is commonly a bullet point.
  13. I will be there the whole show. No booth...just walking. Where will you be Glen?

I thought Rapala would be making their big soft plastic release during the show, but haven't heard anything about it. I will be there methodically walking the show as usual.
  16. Thank you for your reply sir.
  17. Understood. What is the principle if you don't mind me asking.
  18. Oh man thats sad
  19. I would have done same thing. I weeded out anyone in my inner circle who would have criticized me for keeping and eating a bass long ago.
  20. I used to work those spooling stations as a kid. Spooled up thousands of reels. I'm sure I have a flung a dozen of so off the station from not tightening down on the reel seat good enough.

The main chemical in all waterproofing agents is PFAS. It is a "forever chemical" and is being slowly removed from the retail and manufacturing industry. The susbtitutes..are not the same. and in actuality..slowly has turned into rapidly.

Get all your waterproofing sprays and performance clothing NOW before everything is reformulated. It will NEVER be the same again.
  23. Its hot down here in South East Tx right now. Like...hot hot.
  24. They have been doing that for a long time down here in Texas. All I can say is (and I think I am quoting Jurassic Park)......Nature finds a way. There isn't a muddle puddle down here anymore that doesn't contain a carp.
