  1. Have dozens of bags of them. Know they are a good worm. Feel they will get bit. But have not caught numbers and quality of bass on an Iovino Worm.
  2. Is this the area near Metcalf Park north of the golf course? I would see it from the highway when driving to and from Cal Poly when my daughter was in school.
  3. I had the same situation, was out of bass fishing for quite some time. Own 4 of these in righty. Use them if they are still in good shape, mine still work great. Parts may be a problem moving forward, but I haven’t reached that point yet though. Joe
  4. Do you use the regular or magnum on the swing head?
  5. Appendages? I think the Z-Drop is more of a X-tail bait. A friend swears by them, but I’ve never used them myself. I still use the Robo Sculpins or Fat 4-6” worms when drop shotting.
  6. I have a bunch of P-Line flouro in that date range. It was stored in a garage cabinet out of the elements. I’ve been using it a leader to braid and have had no issues.
  7. I took up the bass fishing hobby at 50 so I just picked the hook size as a moniker. Waaay past that now, but since I don’t use anything larger I won’t be changing it. HaHa! I’m Joseph James, maybe I could change mine to joeyjim ?.
  8. Thanks for the responses!
  9. Does the type of accent color on a trailer have an impact on how bass see the jig? For example you have a black jig and use a black and blue trailer. What determines when the blue accent should be a flake, swirl, or on tips only? Joe
  10. Sorry for the confusion, I was referring to shelf lining. Pic above how I did mine.
  11. Where did you get the containers for the CPS and beads? Craft store? What size are they?
  12. Try using a glue gun to attach a piece of shelving material to the inside of the lid. I used the corrugated shelving material. It’s worked for me. Sometimes stuff will catch on it, but a tap before opening helps with that.
  13. Gotcha. Clouseau the bass will do that to you!
  14. Brown and purple skirts are a staple in a lot of lakes around here, usually paired with a matching trailer. Looks like you’ve used a watermelon seed trailer on these. What was the thinking in that matchup? Joe
  15. Why does GYCB still implement the V shaped wire weed guards? Was looking at them and thought the stiffness would interfere with hook set.
  16. DVT helped me out with this type of thing. Contact him.
  17. I fished a club tourney there on the 14th. Like you mentioned in your original post baitfish were everywhere. But we experienced water temps in the 62-64 range. It was really tough for me, but my boater was able to get 10+ pounds with drop shot and spoons. His spoons were Duhs in pink (trout color) and chartreuse. He set me up with one, I’m new to spoons, and I was able to hook a couple fish. One short fish and one keeeper that got off. It was a blast, although my shoulders were screaming by the end of the day?.
  18. Tom, Is this line durable enough to last more than one season? I ask because the filler spools are 165 yds. Joe
  19. I’m going to rig up a couple and give them a go. We fish a lot of foothill reservoirs with rocky banks and walls. This may be a better option to a bullet weighted T -Rig as far as hang ups are concerned. But as referenced in some of the posts grass or wood cover is needed for them to be most effective. They seem to be similar to a swing head, a rig I tried recently for the first time. Did not have any success with it, but the fishing that day was really tough. It did come through rock really well. Better than a regular football head rigged with a trailer I’ve always used in the past.
  20. Thanks all for the responses and ideas!
  21. That’s food for thought.
  22. So do I re Rage Craw. Just looking at carrying a different look. What got me looking at the Psycodad was it could be used on a Chatterbait. But the colors are kind of eye popping, maybe why they call it psycho.
  23. Between the Flappin Hog or Psycodad which would perform best as a jig trailer? Wanted as another option to the Rage Craw. Joe
