  1. Like this chewed up thumb. Seriously casting with both hands helps.
  2. 6 turns with lines under 20 lb mono diameter. 5 turns for heavier lines
  3. Maybe they'll work with you if you trade up to the 170, 175, or bigger.
  4. Booyah & Lunkerhunt make 1/4 oz frogs that I fish on my Heavy frog rod.
  5. But when you find them it can get you warmed up quickly.
  6. Oh yeah! Tired of the heat. Caught that fish 3 consecutive Friday's spoon fishing on the first drop at 15,19, and 21 degrees air temps.
  7. I've got a Terrova 80 on my 1448 and if it's calm(less than 2 mph winds) it gets squirrelly at times and will spin around. It keeps me within 3' normally. It took me a while to quit worrying about it spinning around, but it always corrects itself. It may be your pucks location. But as others have said play with the boat scale first.
  8. I'd suggest getting a 25 hp if possible. A friend bought a Crestliner 1600 with Mercury 4 stroke 25 hp and with the 2 of us and tackle it'd plane but I'm not sure a 20 hp would. With the 25 it took about 15 second to break over onto plane.
  9. I say we all load up and follow him to the lake and shadow him until he comes off this super secret knowledge. ?
  10. On rare occasions in the Fall I'll catch some shad and just throw them in a bucket. They of course die but I still do pretty good drop shotting them. You will catch a bit of everything.
  11. 20 lb P- Line CXX or Big Game
  12. I'm good with my Stradic Ci4+ 1000's & 2500's factory spool as they're plenty light & my braid last a long time.
  13. Met my bud at the lake one morning to fish a tournament. He pulled up and I tossed my tackle in his boat and he backed me down. I secured the boat to the dock and passed him on the dock. I'd forgotten my sunglasses in my truck. It was still dark and he fired up his Lowrance and starts adjusting it wondering how it got so out of whack. There was about 25 or 30 boats already in the water and 10 or so tied up to the dock. As I arrived at my bud's boat he was nowhere to be seen, so I climb in and sit down. Then I hear somebody holler what the **** are you doing in my ****** *****, boat. My bud was sitting in a Bass Tracker just like his adjusting a Lowrance HDS 7 just like his. The guy about blew a fuse because he thought my bud was deleting or trying to steal his waypoints. It was a show for a couple minutes and my bud was some kinda embarrassed. It was great! The next day he ordered the green LED's I'd been trying to convince him to get for night fishing, mainly so he'd never mistake who's boat he was climbing in.
  14. I had a similar thought. Heads up display in Costa glasses that's controlled by voice commands. Solves several problems, cuts weight by removing heavy displays, lessens chance of displays being borrowed, and opens up line of sight for the driver.
  15. I'd definitely suggest compound cutters for hooks. I use the Crescent Compound cutter. Any standard needle nose will flat barbs.
  16. Where's my 7'11" heavy rod and 2 oz tungsten? I can get the info out of him.??
  17. I'll trade my Summer for two Winters. Summer's definitely my slowest season.
  18. GreenPig replied to j bab's topic in Fishing Tackle
    Interesting. On the list now.
  19. They're just mean. Genetically programmed to kill. If they'd only hit when they hungry, fishing would be a lot tougher.
  20. Duracell AGM's 31 and Dual Pro charger work nicely with my Terrova 80
  21. I'm just poking fun at you. All of us that work on our on reels have assembled them only to have them not function correctly at times. You've likely got a piece flipped over the wrong way. Just take your time and pull it apart and reassemble it. You can figure it out. When I tear down a reel I've never worked before I take alot of pics with my phone to give me reference for assembling it.
