  1. You must have pretty deep pockets if you can do all of that and manage school. It sounds to me like you plan for this to be an interim boat. If that is the case, my recommendation is to fix things needing repair and skip the big ticket items. Since you have power poles do you need spot lock? If the 90 is working, I wouldn’t change it out. So from your post I’d do pump, carpet and seats. That alone may be a couple of grand. Plan on getting $.25 to $.50 on the dollar for your upgrades when you sell or trade the boat (for example, when I traded my Champion in I had 2 Lowrance HDS 9 and a 12. They only offered $600 for all three. I gave a 9 to a friend and sold the other two for $1900.).
  2. You can make a master like you want then build yourself a mold. You use several different materials for the master. Molds can be made from silicone, fiberglass resin, and plaster of paris just to name a few. There are bait making sites where you can get lots of info about how to do it.
  3. I am looking for a rod. I have found several that would be perfect if they didn’t have split grips. They remind me of artificial limbs.
  4. Only thing I am thinking, do you need a shaft that long?
  5. It all depends on how I am fishing and where I find fish. Sometimes it is run and gun. Sometimes it is slo mo.
  6. I don’t have locks. I have replacement non deductible for theft and vandalism insurance.
  7. That is the one I use. It was recommended by a friend who works for the Corps of Engineers. That is what they wear.
  8. I have mine set so there is a little slip when I set the hook. That way I can’t break it on the hook set. I can always add drag with my off hand or thumb.
  9. I’ve mounted LSS and Total Scans using Transducer Shield and Saver mounts.
  10. Probably neither. I’d get what ever is on the boat that I would buy.
  11. Nitro Z 20 with 250 Verado 1. yes 2. dealer I think 3. manual 4. Slidemaster 5. yes
  12. 6# fluorocarbon line or 8/1 power pro braid Spinning...1000 and 2000 Shimano reels Casting....Shimano 70 XG Fenwick and Gloomis rods Baits.... TRDs, Charlie Brewer Sliders, home made bucktail jigs Heads....1/16, 3/32 and 30 grain heads in various shapes and hook sizes from #4 to 2/0.
  13. If you switch brands you will also have to switch the controls and cables.
  14. I can’t count the fish I have caught on a buzz bait, but I can count my whopper plopper fish...1.
  15. For me is casting distance and accuracy. I’ve never noticed sensitivity differences in the same caliber of rods. I am more accurate with a 6’6” rod than a 7’. I can cast a 7’ farther. I fish mostly open clear water so most of my rods are at least 7’ long.
  16. My thought exactly. A little heat and the tip should slide right off.
  17. Surely you mean stern instead of bow. A pic would be helpful.
  18. Good pics. We watched a buck with a notched ear change and grow. He was coming along well until a neighbor saw him during the season.
  19. Thursday, keeping an eye on the sky and checking my weather ap.
  20. Taking apart is easy. It’s the putting back that can be tricky. Carefully laying each piece in a row as you take them off and placing them so you know what is up and what is down is a big help. Check out some you tube videos before you begin.
  21. Wind is your friend. Wind will move the algae. Zooplankton will follow the algae. Shad will follow the zooplankton. White bass will follow the shad. I have had my best days when the wind has blown from the same direction for 3 days. Lots of baits work; small jigs, small plastics, lipless cranks, all the way to Arigs.
  22. That depends on what they are, how many you have and how they are used and treated. I carry 20 setups, 10 bc and 10 spinning. I take care of my stuff and keep it clean. I relube the bc reels 3 or 4 times yearly and clean and grease yearly. The spinning get a yearly job.
