Fishing in the wind
Except for those times that I am fishing the bottom the wind is my friend. That is why I have a 112# thrust trolling motor and a heavy fiberglass boat.

ElaZtech And Jig Skirts
I called Zman about this very issue. I was told that it was the chemical reaction of Elaztech and PVC which what these boxes are made from same as plastic baits. He told me Flambeau boxes didn't react the same way so I ordered some. There is still some warping but not as bad.

Top vs Bottom Drag spinning reels?
I’ve had several of both types. I found the rear drag reels harder to service so I replaced them with front drags.

Ready for Bucktail Jigging
You never know about the supply. I was catching hundreds of whites and staying for a month so I made up 20 dozen 30 gram jigs. When we got there we found out that there had been a massive fish kill. I didn’t need very many jigs. I still have a bunch left because the fishery hasn’t come back.

Suggestions for front deck fish finder cable covers
I wrap Christmas light extensions in Glad wrap and toss them on the ground for over a month in December come rain shine or snow. I’ve never had a problem.

Solix 15 Or Helix 15?
I have 3 Solix units. One is hooked to my X2 cranker and the other 2 have separate (house battery) power source.

Ready for Bucktail Jigging
A bunch of nice looking jigs for sure. Unless you have a bunch of hang ups you have a life time supply there bud.

When do you use braid and when do you use straight fluorocarbon?
That was not my experience. I used the Albright and Alberto knots with 30# braid and 17# fluorocarbon. An overwhelming majority of mine broke at the junction of the two lines.

Starting Power, Ending Finesse - What about the converse?
The time of day and weather is the biggest factor for me. If I can arrive in a crepuscular period then a spinnerbait, crankbait, or spook will be first to hit the water. If it is sunny and calm then out comes the worm brush hog junior, and Ned.

When do you use braid and when do you use straight fluorocarbon?
I’ve gone through the whole gamete, mono, braid, braid with mono leaders, braid with fluorocarbon leaders and straight fluorocarbon. I fish in highland reservoirs with no vegetation, standing and downed timber and many rocks and bluffs. I don’t go after hung up baits except for some of the more expensive ones. So the life expectancy of a bait is very short. I spent a couple of years using braid and leaders. It seemed like I was spending as much time retying as I was fishing. I don’t like straight braid for bottom lures and my mono was getting beat by my partner who was using fluorocarbon. So I made the switch to fluorocarbon about 6 years ago and have been satisfied. I use it in 6, 8, 10, 12, and 15# depending on the application. I only use braid for deep vertical jigging and throwing the Arig.

Replace both while you are at it and save yourself some trouble later on.

Aids in Structure Fishing
If your unit has the capability of having a mapping card, it would be worth your time to get one.

Aids in Structure Fishing
What electronics do you have? My most important thing for fishing structure my mapping unit.

Eliminate BRAIDED LINE ....Dig in problems. Everytime.
What kind of baits are you using to make it necessary for that type of retrieve? I’m wondering because I only use braid for Arigs and spinnerbaits with bait casters and they provide enough drag to keep tension on the line.

Jig rods you carry
I keep 2 mh and 2 h jig rods in the boat all of the time.

Getting rid of GAMEY taste in killed animals & Fish.
I have given up on wild game. Other than quail, I don’t like it any more and believe me I have tried. Just give me a corn fed Kansas City strip or a fillet and I am good.

Your technique-specific casting rods
I carry at least 20 setups in my boat. Not one of them is as specific as your list. Except for my Arig setups all of them see at least double duty. Even my Neds double for sliders and bucktail jigs.

Worrying about a dead starting battery?
Have you ever had to use it in the boat? I have a switch in the boat that allows me to change batteries in an emergency though with the X2 battery I have never needed it.

When would you choose Shakey head over TR?
If you try it, I highly recommend that you get some Zeros.
