  1. Big fan of the zman worms for their durability and buoyancy.
  2. Generally speaking the sv’s lighter spool and braking will make throwing lighter lures and skipping easier. I own both but recommending one would be easier knowing what lures/techniques you plan to use it for.
  3. Would ya look at what the cat dragged in!
  4. Fun fact; Megabass makes a diamante silent. Clear gill was a killer for me last year. It hurt a little giving this one up, yes I have issues?
  5. For sure, I rarely hear it mentioned. I sold off my 705cb after buying it as it I found it could do everything it could and then some, I find it’s superb for chatterbaits and the bigger spooks.
  6. Dobyns 706cb, 7.1:1 tatula 100, 14-17lb sufix mono.
  7. Say hello to my lil’ fren… the daiwa kage 7’1” heavy pitching machine, jigs n creatures 24/7/365
  8. Nice haul! Now just go out and target more whities if you want some blackies ?
  9. This is the the berkley flicker shad 5 shallow, it’s more on the finesse side of things, 2.75”/8gm, designed as a trolling lure, walleye I presume. I casted these shallow early last spring with some success for bass and panfish. It cranks and jerks well and stays pretty shallow 2-3ft, my best success with it was a slow and steady crank interspersed with twitches. Great hooks out of the box too.
  10. Probably because they really don’t compare. The steez is more of a general purpose reel and the zillion is a heavy duty reel. What application/rod pairing were you considering them for?
  11. I believe Daiwa USA borked the lure rating on that rod, 1/2 to 1-1/2 rating is a heavy power rating, highly unlikely for a medium powered jerkbait rod. I've had my eye on that Feider rod for some time now to use as a dedicated topwater rod, this new version might be my breaking point.
  12. Gamakatsu does it for me, a little pricey but very high quality.
  13. I'm surprised to hear the 7'1" heavy is struggling with 3/8+trailer considering it's rating, would like to hear some more opinions on it. I have a 7'1" heavy kage arriving Saturday, I recall reading was the same blank, I sure hope a 1/2+trailer jig falls in it's sweet spot zone or it may going back.
  14. If you find yourself in the north burbs (palatine) anglers international resources has a great selection of rod, reels, and high end tackle. I checked out fishtech a couple year back during the height of covid but as you can imagine they were wiped out.
  15. The megabass x-nanahan is a sweet little unit.
  16. I’m interested, are you allowed to put it in cloud storage like google drive and post a link?
  17. Canned sardines 2-3 times a week for the off the charts nutritional benefits, not necessarily because I love them; they have the highest concentration of omega3's and the lowest mercury levels of almost anything that swims. And as a bonus for you societal fringe dwellers they'll give you a severe case of the incredible human repelling superpower known as fish breath.
  18. The aerodynamic teardrop shaped free rig weight tends to "punch" through the air much better than a t-rig making any really special gear unnecessary, imo. I have no issues casting a 3/16 free rig on my tatula sv tw and medium/fast st croix and often use 1/8 oz.
  19. It hasn’t been an issue or a concern for me. Is it ideal? Probably not, but for $130 I got no complaints.
  20. I'm not huge on jerks but I have tossed some pointer 100's on it, I bought it originally as a dedicated topwater rod so I imagine it'd work fine as it's great for spooks. MC lists the benkei as "regular fast" which I interpreted as mod-fast but imo it is closer to fast, for comparison it has a similar tip but a touch more give center blank than say my mh/f st croix le.
  21. I was on a jdm site last night that were all 2-piecers, can't find them now lol, just assumed they all were, but your link does show it as 1 pc. I do find that the one I have at least, a benkei, is a great value and punches above it's weight for blank and build quality, all fuji components at $130 is hard to beat.
  22. Those are interesting, two pieces that break at the handle, you have one? I heard they are re-booting their days line soon (sorry for the derail)
  23. You can get them on tackle warehouse
