  1. Got one these little guys, cuts braid clean, very small and light, stays on a strap around my neck, very handy.
  2. Frogs. I hate them. They hate me [ribbit]
  3. Two loon, two bone, all other colors be darned!
  4. Check out kalins swimbait and saltwater bullet jigs, I think the 1/4 size come in 3/0 and 4/0, also owner makes a saltwater inshore jig that uses a 3/0, all hooks are really stout, 3x iirc, and are plenty big enough for 5” bodies.
  5. Probably have to go with jigs. Between the different styles and the vast array of trailers and mods you can cover dang near all seasons and conditions.
  6. Big difference for me. I recently tried yozuri copolymer on a rod I’ve long used pline tactical on and immediately regretted it. Lost sensitivity and hookset power, going back to fuoro asap
  7. 10 rigs? Dang! If it’s not too much trouble I’d like to know how you organize those in your canoe. edit: nevermind, seen it
  8. Nice, sure hoping they offer that cranking reel in a left-hand version.
  9. Lost what I believe would’ve been a new PB yesterday, hooked her on a deep diving crank for about 5 seconds, then a momentary flash in the water with a side view of a huge bass drifting back down into the darkness... then nothing ?
  10. Weird, when i posted the comment it said “hidden” which is why i edited it, guess it wasn’t hidden. Contrast is likely the factor rather than color.
  11. Not trying to be a smarty pants but research has found that largemouth bass can only discern the colors green and red and blue and black look the same to them as does chartreuse and white. https://www.gameandfishmag.com/editorial/what-colors-do-bass-see/372341
  12. Pretty solid reel, some have uneven line lay which is easily corrected by adding a washer, others whine about the reel flexing due to not being metal framed, not an issue for bass. Mine's been going three years now with no problems and still smooth as silk, line laid great out of the box. Totally worth $50 if it's new if you ask me.
  13. Love these kind of tips, I have my pitching reel set up with with enough braid backing to allow 66 yards of main line to fill it, gets three refills out of a 200yd fluoro spool, saving that $$$, good stuff!
  14. @newyorktoiowa57Orochii xx gen 2, it’s become my most used rod, fantastically versatile, I can go from jigs n t-rigs to trebled lures, ridiculously good taper, it has plenty of power for jigs and yet enough bend to protect trebles, I throw the 110 size whopper plopper on it quite a bit and the 5.8 beast hook rigged keitech. With braid it’s a great frog rod, can punch with it too. For a single purpose jig rod sure there’s better but it isn’t worlds apart from my nrx.
  15. This is what you want. Thorough, focuses on fundamentals, and gave me supreme confidence in cranks (it covers all species not just musky)
  16. Last spring I was fishing with a friend in his boat in a heavy mist and began feeling tingling sensations in my rod hand, then a few minutes later started feeling the tingling in my right foot too, then he started freaking out telling me he recently seen a utoob video where this happened to someone. Ain’t messing with that, we skedaddled...
  17. I use my dobyns 795sb swimbait rod, toss that little sucker a country mile.
  18. It's a rig I go to at some point in every season of the year. Just stocked up on a bunch of those new vmc tungsten mojo weights, pricey but great quality.
  19. I throw the big trd, have not used the finesse trd but have considered it. Would probably nose hook it on a #2 dropshot hook, I’ve mojo rigged other finesse plastics this way.
  20. You would think so yet I have a k thats “geary” and a 71 thats like butter ?‍♂️
  21. The speed you need is for quickly reeling in slack when a fish bites or if he runs at you and applies no matter how you’re fishing jigs/plastics imo
  22. I use the 71hg now, 7.2:1/28ipt, but if I had to do it again I would get the 71xg 8.2:1/32ipt.
  23. Follow his setup instructions in this video and you’ll be good to go, start your main brakes at 12 instead of 10 just in case because your newish to baitcasters.
