Out of line ?
You did what most would do, I do it to. It's not selfish to protect the livelihood of the body of water we fish most often and social media can certainly make that challenging. Back in late February I had a surprisingly productive day on a local lake and wife posted pics on FB. Well it wasn't long before her post was bombarded with inquiries........" what lake ? What was he using? Does he mind if I tag along next time ?. She replied " he's practicing social distancing and declined to comment " lol Sharing your favorite spots with close respectable friends is one thing but not FB.

What type of area do hunters/anglers reside in?
Rural here where I live, town of 1068 people with no stop lights. Drove 80 miles a day to work.....when I worked.

Crazy weather lately???
Yep, wild weather around here has put a damper on fishing. Heavy cold rains, high winds and well below normal temps. Our local lake temp went from low 60's back to 50* and I see 30's in upcoming forecast. I'd be curious what effect this will have on spawn.

Pressure lake
I fish a very high pressured lake occasionally, it's clear. Drop-shot, flukes and brush hogs is only way I get bit.

What is high wind for fishing?
I should quit posting in " wind " threads. Lol It leaves a false impression of my demeanor. Wind picks up over 10 - 15 mph and I closely resemble a 2 yr old having a tantrum.

You can choose only one lure/tactic for the day...
For the 1st quarter of the year, I wear out Jerkbaits, a personal favorite.

What Do You Bring For Lunch on the Water?
Same thing everytime. Banana, yogurt, protein bar, trail mix and water.

Back Seat
Happy you enjoyed your time on the water. We've had a considerable amount of cold rains here in the mountains of VA and water temps have plummeted, 50* yesterday when I checked and same lake was 61* 2 weeks ago......lock jaw. Lol

Got a huge upgrade today!! Going to go try it out now
Our lakes were up and heavily stained. Hope you enjoy.

Soap???
When I owned a glass boat, just 303.

Fluke info
I really like flukes or assassins and duplicate the action of spooks in deeper water columns......zig zag. Nose hooked allows you to get away with lighter tackle and may increase hook-up ratio, seemingly. Prefer pearl in overcast AND smallmouth like them. I actually use a heavy action rod for Magnum with 5/0 hook or med heavy rod with 3/0 using standard fluke.

Seems like a plethora of knot threads lately.......wait, this is a fishing forum.

Most memorable 1 hr of fishing.
I can really relate to this as I remember when fishing was all about eating and if you wanted to catch fish you used crayfish, mad Tom's and minnows.......the picnic table was always full of scales.

To fish?? Or not to fish.. ??
" blizzard " " dumped " and end result was 1/4" of snow. Lol

To fish?? Or not to fish.. ??
That's a serious equipment upgrade. I'd be anxious to try it out so I vote....take Friday off and get on the water.

Your Favourite Engines
I've had several 5.3L over the years, definitely a flagship engine for GM. We use to drag race on the weekends back in the 70's in our little town for entertainment and can tell that with a stock engine " ok maybe headers " , a 350 was hard to beat in the quarter for a small block......and they held up. Another super good engine for durability but lacked performance was the inline 4.0, still have one. My latest truck has the 5.7 Hemi but can't say I like it better than my 5.3's. Oh, my 1970 Nova with a 307 was very under performing. I actually got beat in the quarter by a farm use truck, seriously. This thread brings back a lot of memories.

No Hardbaits
I feel the same way with the exception of Jerkbaits.

Casting to your left, my first post
I don't think I've ever casted with my left hand, I'm right handed. Always 2 handed cast with a baitcaster and 1 hand with spinning but can retrieve either. I'm either no good or don't like back handing casting gear.

What Y'all Doing
Been cutting quite a bit of firewood, up to 15 cords now, bought another Echo. Playing a lot of cards with the wife in the evening, couple shots of tequila also. Watch fishing videos on YouTube. I'm either home or fishing, that's really it.

Proper YETI cooler usage
Another trick that was told to me which I've used on 3 - 4 day camping trips is to freeze water balloons. Couple of frozen chunks the size of softballs will still be there after 4 days.
