Let’s talk buzz baits - is the MS Cavitron still considered king, and if not what is? What is generally considered to be the ideal weight?

Fish smell on hands
Never gave it much thought 🤔 I must be rubbing my hands on my shorts because the wife says the laundry basket smells like fish. Now if I accidentally drop a catfish on the boat carpet, that gets scrubbed as soon as I get home.

Neko rod recommendation
Right or wrong I keep it simple and look at the hook that's getting shoved in the mouth of the fish. DS = ML Neko = M 4.0 EWG = MH

as our local lakes warm up for summer. carolina rigging?
I abandoned the old school C-rig years back just to simplify. Went with the Mojo rig with bobber stops and also use Peggz depending on what bait is being thrown and how deep.

Do new plastics start drying out as soon as you take them out of the package?
I've never " unrigged " except for Elaztech and rods stay in rod locker, no problem.

Great way to start the year
What a way to kick off your first outing....... really good fish. 👍

Competing against natural forage
It's part of the fun of fishing. Tricking the fish into taking something artificial whether it's natural forage or not. Healthy lakes should have an abundance of forage and an abundance of fish

Took my wife out for Bluegill and Crappie, we caught 18 on trusty ole' nightcrawlers. Accidently caught a really nice bass that the wife wanted to keep. I said " don't be greedy " 😁

6th sense flush 5.2 soft jerkbait ❓
I'm a big fan of fluke type baits and know the reputation of 6 sense so ordered the flush in a couple of preferred colors. Anyone have experience with these and how would you compare them with Zoom flukes ❓

Is there a better solution for using a snap with a spinnerbait than a little dental rubber band?
Casting gear will slow down drifting up the wire but I have very preferred spinnerbaits and prefer direct tie. Kinda expensive but a VMC .002 crossover ring will prevent drifting if you want to change out baits.

"Big" bass
Good question. I'd say anytime I use the net it's a good fish but that's in the 3 - 4lb range. I'm mainly a finesse fisherman and pretty content with volume of fish.

Anyone fish roboworms?
Roboworms got their reputation as the standard for drop-shot. Imo That's what I use them for and do well with Aaron's magic. They have great colors as well.

The Latest Skunk Buster
I also love the drop-shot as a skunk killer, always works here. BUT also consider a Mepps #3.

Stained water day after raining weather trouble
Spinnerbait for sure. If you're in a boat stay tight to the bank and cast parallel.....a spinnerbait.

2022 Mercury 115 Pro XS oil question
Doesn't matter. Dyno oil, synthetic blend, synthetic ,one year to the next, engine will be fine. I've done it for many years. It's one of those topics that gets overthinked. I've ran nothing but 10w-30 in everything mentioned above in Mercury 4-strokes.

Luka to the Lakers
Yes, hope Minnesota makes it interesting. I do think OKC vs Indiana would be an interesting series.
