  1. My most expensive rods are Dobyns Sierra, St Croix Mojo Bass........so no way.
  2. How old is the engine ❓ Have you replaced the fuel line and filter ❓ When it does this have you tried to manually prime via the bulb ❓
  3. This is how I do it with minimal lost fish on hookset. 5.0 Gamy EWG. 4.0 offset worm hook. Like someone mentioned the Ol' monster gets the EWG.
  4. I throw quite a bit of drop-shot in 1/8 tungsten. Well I reordered some more without paying attention and man are these much thinner. Any advantage or disadvantage ❓
  5. Agree. Couple of years ago before I got my Bass boat, the wife and I stayed a week on Smith mountain lake. I only had my kayak and learned very quickly to be off the water by 9am for self preservation...... wake boats, loud music and alcohol.

    Welcome to the site 👍
  7. I catch my biggest fish of the year almost every year on a Jig. Well this year a fluke has the that title so far 😄
  8. Here's a comparison between the Zoom mag || ( top ) And Zoom ol ' monster ( bottom ) .
  9. If I joined up and said I'm going to do it, I'd be lying. As soon as the morning bite subsides, my boat deck gets littered with combos.
  10. Zoom mag 2 in plum apple on Gamy 5.0.
  11. Guy walks into the Doctor's office claiming he feels like a dog. DR asked how long has he felt like this ❓ The guy responds " ever since I was a puppy " .
  12. It's all good, we remember WRB. W- world R- renowned B - bass fisherman
  13. We're they the ones with the Squid 🐙 scent ❓
  14. Well it's definitely premature wear on the tires and premature alternator failure. The wife's last car " Hyundai Santa Fe" behaved similar and she got sick and tired of driving my Jeep while her car was at the dealer. Fast-forward - We sold it and bought a dependable Honda CRV. I can understand normal maintenance but parts failing well before there time can be frustrating and sometimes intolerable. Good luck
  15. When I upgrade a rod the reel gets upgraded as well. I have rods and reels in my gun room that never get used but everything is paired.

That's crazy. With triple springs that problem should never occur again.
  17. Never get burned out fishing but fish many bodies of water in VA and WV.
  18. Junk ! Grew up with a 7 acre farm pond loaded with big bass and broke my line on everyone them. 8# dry rotted Stren, flimsy rods with grooves in the eyes. Finally met a tournament fisherman at the county Fair in the late 70's and invited him over. He proceeded to slay these giant bass. He gave me a nice rod and reel and some tackle and the rest was history. Oh !The expense started after I realized I could actually catch some fish. 😄

It's the pesky Bluegill. Don't fall for the " peck peck peck ".
  20. I've been using 15# braid to 8# Sunline Sniper leader for the last 4 years on all finesse presentations. Can't imagine that a 10# leader would would be much of a compromise.
  21. I sharpened all hooks in the dead of winter and do reel maintenance as well.......It's an all day job.
  22. Thermocell....... done. My brother hunts deer in the swamps of eastern NC and said mosquito's are so big that they have ticks and thermocell eliminated any threat. They work 👍
  23. I only use the the flickshake 4.8 and VMC crossover ring.003-004. The rings are as durable as a Goodyear tire.
  24. I dislike boat dock banter when I'm trying to launch so have always took unattractive women fishing. 😁
  25. Definitely soft plastics simply because I throw them more often and they are more fragile. I've thrown the same spinnerbait, Buzz bait, square bill for years but can go through a bag of Senko's in a day.
