  1. My wife, 2 daughters and myself have all hit deer on the mountain road leading to the house.......it sucks.
  2. I could likely get by with 5 baits year around but have so many variants of the same bait types. Example would be craw imitation: Brush hogs - jigs - creature - speed craw - rage craw - Yama craw. Etc I gotta believe that anyone of those would attract the same fish on a given piece of structure. You can look at the front deck of boat and get a good idea if the fish are biting. Good day there may only be 3 rods. Slow day and the boat deck is littered with rods and reels and I'm playing twister to get to the one I want next. If a bait is producing, I'll throw it all day.
  3. My wife is all about the Bee Gees, Eagles and Van Morrison so the other night I played some Dua Lipa......no go. 😁
  4. The SLX , set the brakes 50/50 and forget it about it.
  5. I own ( 1 ) heavy action rod and use it for frogs in junk and Magnum flukes.
  6. Somewhat. Depth and water temps are nice to know. Off-shore structure is not much of a consideration on many of the lakes I fish, 200 - 300ft deep.
  7. Send Glenn a PM and he'll get back to you. I had the same question and he promptly responded.
  8. Was fishing in Garrett county MD, always very cool temps there...... not today. Caught a dozen smallmouth and thought I hooked a good one, not.
  9. Wife and I stay up to 2 weeks on a given lake and never clean boat until we get home. Totally Awesome has worked every time.
  10. Our water is very clear and I can clearly see them on beds. Everyone is different in their thinking, respect. I prefer to target them prespawn and let them do their thing during spawn without interrupting. I do fish during spawn but avoid deliberately casting to beds.
  11. Same for years. 15# Power Pro braid to 8# Sunline Sniper flouro on spinning gear......Alberto knot. There's probably so many better lines out there now and better knots but I haven't had any issues to warrant a change.
  12. This time of year, Jackall flickshake in green pumpkin candy on a 1/16 wacky head.
  13. Welcome to the forum. I always think of Lews in the budget market.
  14. Just today for the first time I threw a 6 sense flush 5.2 and it needs a nose weight to compare to the action of a Zoom fluke. Imo Fluke on a 5.0 hook darts better and stays under the surface better.
  15. VA and WV. Oh and a farm pond in Maybin SC in 1982 , military days.
  16. My fishing partner is a bladed jig guru, throws them 80% of the time. He uses nothing but 4" zako and does not like a paddle tail trailer. Idk I still prefer a spinnerbait and swim jig but maybe there's a fine line between the 2...... bladed jig.
  17. On a Jackall flickshake anything above 8# flouro leader reduces the wobble action greatly. By definition, finesse presentations require a light leader for natural action. But I don't have to deal with those toothy critters.
  18. Even today at 64 when I'm fishing and the heat is bearing down, I jump in. If you don't mind getting wet, it's instant AC but make sure you can swim 😁
  19. We're suppose to get it next week, mid 90's. I'm running from it though, heading to a high plateau in WV for a week of smallmouth fishing......low 80's for highs. We definitely don't need more rain here.
  20. Welcome to the forum.
  21. It catches snakehead as well..... white.
  22. I was one of those who detested a bladed jig, couldn't get a sniff. Fished a lake last year that had stained water and couldn't keep the fish off of it. I'm no expert with this bait but did start to grow fond off it after it started to produce. I throw it almost exactly like a spinnerbait. Comes through grass quite well and entices a bite around wood like a spinnerbait. I use 1/4 3/8 and 1/2 with various trailers and colors.
  23. Bass fishing doesn't have to be complicated, just present the bait and manage the drag. Wife has caught several 2# bass while fishing for Bluegill on a Zebco 33 micro bullet, 4# flouro. @MN Fisheradvice will prevent future frustration. 12# flouro on smaller spinning tackle will eventually rear it's ugly head, uncoiling and giving you a nice 8ft cast. Other than that you'll be fine with your chosen gear and learn as you go.

When I used glue it was Super glue with a brush. I've since went with a weedless swing head for Neds, no glue required.
  25. Ouch 😂 We carry an asortment of tackel like Zoom supper flukes, jurk baits, wooper plopers, you name it 😁
