Shimano 2021 Scorpion DC 150 HG reassembly
I don't have a DC but on my Shimanos, I believe the only flat head screws are the ones that hold down the drive shaft bearing or whatever its called ... #44 on the diagram above.

Geary feeling reels that are relatively new
In my experience its usually a bad/dry pinion bearing. Per @Delaware Valley Tackle, I started using gear oil on all non-spool bearings and its made a world of difference.

Is it better?
I think changing lures forces me to change locations/speeds/cadence. I'm fairly certain if I took a worm and changed those variables, I could catch just as much. I've just conditioned myself to see certain lures fit for certain types of cover/structure.

Spool tension not tightening enough (if at all)
Thats honestly the only thing I can think of. Theoretically you could pull the gear set, drag, and brakes off but should still be able to tighten it enough to prevent free fall using just the spool tension knob. Could also be the side plate isnt properly locked into place? In either case, the spool shaft seems to not be making contact with the spool tension knob.

Spool tension not tightening enough (if at all)
Sounds like a tension knob issue. Any spacers missing under the cap?

TACKLE WAREHOUSE WEB SITE HAS BECOME PURE TRASH
Sales are def trash. I would usually put smaller items on the family Christmas list and then they would buy them all at once to get free ship + discount. Now, it doesn't really make much sense to buy the sale since without free shipping Amazon's got them beat.

Best baitcasting reel under $100?
This is an under $100 thread, so yeah, probably regular SLX.

Is it better to have a better reel or rod?
You stated "high end" and tbh i think its personal preference at that point. If you're spending +$350 on rod or reel alone, then odds are the other isn't terribly far behind and you'll be okay.

SEVIIN Reels: Durability Proven by Testing
Following up on the post above, @12poundbass if there's one thing you could change about the SEVIIN reel, what would it be?
-
Should I get multiple rods and reel setups?
My advice would be to try new techniques with the gear you already have and then purchase rod/reel for that technique if you like it. That way you don't end up with a specialized Carolina rod that just sits there.

Is this a legit St. Croix site?
This wasn't a stand alone post. It was posted to another thread but moved here. I was just curious why SEVIIN spinning reels arent listed on St Croixs own site.

Tatula 200 w/Lighter Baits
Following up on this. Can anyone definitively confirm whether or not the Tatula 150 has a MagforceZ spool and if its interchangeable with the 200? *Edit Disregard. After some research it looks like Tatula 150 = USDM reel (34mm spool) Tatula HD 150 = Tatula HD 200 (36mm spools)

SEVIIN Reels: Durability Proven by Testing
It doesn't make an ounce of sense, but I think many of us are just wired that way.

SEVIIN Reels: Durability Proven by Testing
Basically ... its 1000% looked at as an inferior material. Fishing is predominantly a male hobby. Men like tools. Reels are tools. Tools are made of metal. Toys are made of plastic. I've had an issue with a graphite bodied reel before although it was probably due more to it being a cheap reel than the graphite itself. Given the choice of crappy aluminum like these Ardents or good graphite, I'll take good graphite like the Seviin all day. But at the price point its at, its not going against crappy aluminum, its going against good aluminum and proven designs.

Reel 'Collecting'
Same here. Not much worth collecting. New stuff replaces old, old gets donated to HS bass clubs. Its nice to see the stuff get new life. A while back some boys were fighting over a pink President reel with a carbon drag.

Tatula 200 w/Lighter Baits
Maybe its me but I would say it feels more like a moderate fast than a true fast. That said, sensitivity is great on the rod. I haven't tested the lower limits but I have thrown jigs down to 3/8 and it does that fine as long as you aren't solely going for distance. I believe the line/reel may have also been limiting factors though. I wouldn't want to throw a 3/8 crankbait with it though.

Tatula 200 w/Lighter Baits
Been great but mostly been used for smaller swimbaits like magdrafts, small hollow body swimbaits, and small glides. Have thrown some carolina rigs and heavier jigs with it as well and its worked great for that.
