  1. I'll be running 30lb braid for frogs. I currently use 15lb YoZuri for smaller swimbaits.
  2. I believe the 150 has MagforceZ vs reg linear Magforce braking on the 200
  3. Trying to see if its even worth it to strip line off the Tatula 200 and respool with braid to test myself. Anyhow, I have an Irod Freds Magic Stick that I have been using for smaller swimbaits and it has worked wonderfully for that; however, I also want to throw some frogs with it and was wondering if the Tat200 would do a decent job casting those with braid. I am basically exploring a couple of options: 1. Buy a spare Tat200 spool and use braid so I can swap spools out 2. Spool up a spare Fuego CT that I have with braid and swap out reels as needed 3. Buy a budget frog rod that I probably wont be super happy with and will end up upgrading from either way 4. Also have a Curado K on a 6'10" Tatula rod which I might be able to spool with braid Any advice appreciated.
  4. If the green is labeled BFS, I wouldn't mix that since I'm guessing it's a thinner oil. Blue caps, dump them all together.

  6. Pure Fishing back on this year?
  7. TBH I'm not sure how so many people shop here. There's been maybe a couple of times I've seen them have the lowest prices on something and it's been reels that I don't want/have no need for.
  8. 100% try to match the blue worms bass love to eat
  9. Looks like it might be felt; however, the design is a bit different from what you typically see. In either case, it shouldn't be a deal breaker as its a cheap "upgrade". Video below is 2500 w/felt.
  10. I complete understand and its great that you want to learn but some of these are just non issues or things that are specific to a single reel. The first video with the washer upside down is something that has happened to many of us but that we were quickly able to figure out and fix. The second video, I've never experienced or even heard of. One thing I did notice is he appears to start the video with the drag completely backed off which is why the spool wasn't engaging. He then loosened it even more before tightening it. In my experience reels usually have anywhere from a 1/4 to 3/4s of a turn on the drag star where at the completely loose end of things they do not engage the spool. Simply tightening the drag fixes that.
  11. Youre going far down the youtube rabbit hole. Get out and fish or practice casting or tear some old reels down or something.
  12. What about individual sensitivity? At some point, that has to be a factor. You would have to argue that a 20-something year old's hands would have a more active nervous system and therefore would have better sensation than a 50+ year old's hands? Tactile sensation loss exists. Maybe we should be investing in fish oil instead of better rods
  13. I agree. I think what I base credibility on is whether or not YouTube is your main source of income, or a significant source of income. If it is, you likely have something to gain from misleading or clickbaiting the public.
  14. They seem to be really proud of the frame and not terribly concerned with braking system/internals. Wonder where these are even made?
  15. So I almost started to type out that I would retie it, but then realized that when facing a similar situation, I didn't. For context, mine was braid to YZH, garage kept for probably 7 months or so. I'd say you should be fine unless you spot anything that makes you believe retying is necessary.
  16. Pushing the thumb bar down disengages the spool from the pinion gear and allows it to spin without resistance. The anti-reverse bearing is always "on" or "anti-reversing" or whatever you want to call it. Pushing the thumb bar moves clutch plate/cam plate and cam which moves the yoke and pinion gear up and disengages it from the spool, allowing the spool to spin freely pressing the thumb bar reverses this
  17. 10' Fat fiberglass rod, heavy reel, spooled with 30lb big game. Proof - it catches the most catfish which means it must be super sensitive
  18. This whole thing honestly just feels like you know what answer you want but are trying to see if someone disagrees ... agree with the above. Go fish
  19. part-time? this guys catching 69 fish a day, every day, for 5 months to hit that number
