  1. Someone had posted this a while back, I believe. I don't put much stock into these YouTube videos. Its YouTube, so as expected, he has an affiliate link to the "winning line" where he will earn commissions (link is dead now).
  2. The powers that be make sure they stay efficient ... or else
  3. The point of the tag is for you to be able to adjust the length and have the hook at the desired depth. Do you have a picture of what youre trying to accomplish? Are you trying to free rig?
  4. I 1000% agree that replacement is the way to go, but when funds are low its helped me get a couple of months out of it.
  5. What do you mean by long tag? The line from hook to weight?
  6. Should serve you well. No reason to go expensive to start.
  7. Read this For starters, I would probably purchase a Lucky Craft LC 1.5 silent and KVD 1.5 in natural colors. I would fish those for some time just to get a feel for crankbaits. Another option is red eye shad or variant. With those, you can just cast them out and retrieve to start and you will get bit. Once comfortable, I would probably add a small hard jerkbait like a Lucky craft pointer or kvd jerkbait. I would add deep divers only if you have an area you have fished enough to become familiar with. If you feel you are well aware of the depth of the area and any cover/structure there, then add a crank that runs slightly deeper than that depth. I really like throwing the Academy CRD + (which i cant seem to find any more) for 13' range I fish primarily from bank and part of what influences these recommendations is my experience fishing and losing lures. *Edit - I would use a Med/Mod rod to start.
  8. The Citica would like to have a conversation with you.
  9. Do it on the cheap. Take it apart, clean everything good with heavily diluted simple green or dish soap. Test bearings for spin. Place any stuck/grindy bearings on a chop stick, q tip or something that holds them, and attach them to a drill. Drip in solvent and carefully run at a decent speed until free. Grease/oil, reassemble and fish until grindy again.
  10. I had to teach myself to fish and spincast taught me to retrieve right handed. From there went to baitcaster, also right handed retrieve. Last reel I learned was spinning and it only seemed natural to swap the handle to reel right handed too ...
  11. Thanks for the pic. Hadn't seen a design like that. Must be unique to the 100 as the 200s dont have that.
  12. Honestly the best game lately has been buying Used - Like New items on Amazon. 8/10 times they have some sign of use/wear and when reported to Amazon they do a returnless refund.
  13. Solid 5 year old post bump.
  14. Any pictures? Because I have no idea what "clip" this is referring to ...
  15. Thanks for posting this! I remembered I have an extra Fuego CT laying around and BFS might be fun to try with it. Not to hijack, but is there a preferred gear ratio? I have 6.3 and 8.1 gears for the reel available.
  16. No issues with my K ... other than its a K. Honestly I wouldn't buy it again.
  17. Call Daiwa USA and order the thumb bar. You're going to open the reel, might as well do it right. 1. Do you clean the drag washers? If so, how? I clean them with 99% alcohol then press them into a lint free cloth. Don't do this for felt as it makes them swell. 2. For shielded AR bearings, how would you clean/regrease? Ive never taken these apart or seen the need to. On the older caged style, I would fully disasemble and give it wipe down with a q tip with a single drop of oil on it. 3. I have cals universal star/reel grease, will this work for the main gear as well? Yes 4. How would you clean the side plate of a Lews Tournament Pro? Centrifugal brakes not mag brakes. They finally shipped my spool, and I don't want to throw it into a dirty pepper grinder reel. Any smaller pieces like that, that I don't want to disassemble, I blow off with compressed air and then wipe down with a q tip or a small detail brush.
  18. How many times did you run the test? Its odd that your other 2 results are in line with manufacturer IPT but Abu is 23 vs 26 published.
  19. I mainly go there to compare specs before I buy elsewhere for cheaper ... that said ... i dont like the new site for looking up line diameters
  20. The biggest benefit youre going to see is weight reduction ... in your wallet
  21. TBH if youre on this website youre overthinking the issue
  22. Agree with Siebert and Bitsys up above. I'll also add Jimmy Ds River Bugs - Spring Bear for hair
  23. I always thought the thicker the line, the more bow in the line, the less sensitive ...
