Umm. What?
Y'all need to calm down ... this is the hoverboard all over again. Remember when that was the future? It'll be gone before you know it

Umm. What?
ngl the line guide rotating seems kinda cool and may serve a functional purpose although I doubt the worm gear has tolerances tight enough for that design to significantly improve line lay

Get ready to see this all over social media ... it will sell ... sadly

Old PowerPro VS New
Was the "brand new PowerPro" actually new or broken in? I've found that once braid loses its waxy coating it takes in water and starts to kind of stick to the rod blank when wet which I can't imagine helps casting distance.

Any idea what G. Loomis is teasing on Instragram?
Sure ... current rate is 27% interest

Learning the FG knot
20ish wraps, rizutto finish (no half hitches), burn the leader to a tiny bulb, burn the braid tag to get rid of fuzzies.

Old vs new technology Shimano’s
I dont listen to a lot of ska anymore, but I have to agree. IMO there are noticeable differences in build quality from D series Shimano's on (even though I love an E). Like I've said before, small things like plastic level winds, sideplate screws that screw into graphite vs aluminum, and even the line guide support have changed for the worse.

Reel Boxes
You sure are ... nothing like a nice box and crisp instructions

Reel Boxes
The boxes make for easier sales, esp. on cheaper used reels. People seem to associate box with like-new condition even if the description says otherwise.

Surf fishing equipment questions
I'd get the longer rod. Surf is the one place distance is my top priority since outside of reading current, I'm fishing blindly. That reel should be fine. Add a good shock leader, some sputnik sinkers or similar, and fish bites and youre good to go.

Lew's Classic vs Piscifun Torrent Similarities: Made in China Linear mag brakes Questionable construction Questionable durability Differences: Color Piscifun at least has the decency to give you a box vs a clamshell I'm not a Piscifun fan but the only sub $100 retail Lew's reel I've tried was complete garbage. The real question is what is the Lew's offering that the Piscifun isn't?- Went to Cabela's to get my new reel spooled up, left with a scratch on the reel
yall keep this up and the spooling will only be done for reels purchased through BPS- Real Beerings...uh this okay?
Are you talking about the retainer clip on the brake side? Ive never fished without it, but on my reels that bearing has always had to be pressed in and I cant see it shifting out of place through normal operation. I still wouldn't chance it though. Bend a paper clip and make it work.- What makes a person…
I think the question I'm now asking is is a CC80 and Abu Black Max really better than the $60 Piscifun? I don't have direct experience with either so I'm genuinely curious to hear from anyone who does and not just someone who says "Duh Abu and Daiwa are better".- What makes a person…
Y'all are overthinking it ... its because when you searched fishing reel on amazon, piscifun was the first result, now the first result is kastking. The algorithm tells us what to buy now ... That said, the Piscifun Sword is a fairly good fly reel and is one frequently recommended on the fly forum as a budget option.- is CATT a Dum Cajun? (red line?)
I believe the flouro hype based on trout fishing alone. Trout are sight feeders and fluoro definitely makes a difference there.- is CATT a Dum Cajun? (red line?)
but the package says its invisible ...- What do you do when you snag using braid?
Daiichi finger saver- Recommend my next Fishing Rod
Inline spinners, small jerkbaits/crankbaits
