  1. Just curious why it’s not easy to conceal?
  2. A man got stopped by a Game Warden with his basket full of fish. Warden: do you have a permit for all these fish? Man: no sir. These are all my pet fish. Warden: your pet fish? How's that? Man: well, every night I take all my pet fish for a walk to the lake, I let them swim for about half hour and then I whistle and they all come back and jump in my basket and we go home. We do this every night. Warden: Well that's just a crock of lies!! Man: here I'll show you... (Releases the fish in the lake) Warden: well this I got to see!! 5 minutes later... Warden: well?? Man: what? Warden: the fish!! Where's your pet fish?? Man: what fish??
  3. I got this rubber net at Sportsman’s Warehouse made by Ranger Products. It’s 17” across with a 30” handle. Around $30 I like a all rubber net over the dipped. Treble hooks would still go through the dipped just like a nylon net. I have a stand assist bar on my kayak so I can’t just lay it on the front. I came up with this placement using a YakAttack paddle holder so it sits along the side. I have a lightweight bungee cord holding it in place. All I do is grab the handle and lift and the bungee pops off
  4. Yep! Fishing a big weedbed dipping jigs a boat 20 yards from us was pounding the bass and we were getting nothing. They were trying to hide that they were spraying their baits with WD-40 but I finally saw the can which is easily recognizable. I had a small can of it in my toolbox in the boat I dug it out and started spraying our jigs and we instantly start catching fish also. after that day I covered my WD-40 can with black duct tape just so nobody would know what I was using. Believe me or not it did work
  5. So what makes a jig a good swim jig? I'm pretty sure all my jigs are arkies
  6. I had a cottage owner come out and tell me I was trespassing by fishing in front of his cottage. He told me he owned all the way to the center of the lake. It was ok to drive your boat through it but you can’t stop. When we started laughing it really ticked him off
  7. I got the 7’3” MHf about a month ago. Looks great, feels great in my hands but i haven’t made 1 cast with it yet. Not even in my yard?. I haven’t fished since Apr 24. Work got busy and I have to take it when while it lasts
  8. For those reasons I’d get a boat also
  9. I put a bow mount trolling motor on my kayak and just motor up to each dock
  10. Photographer but for the past year I’ve been trying out a new career of retired
  11. I did that. It’s not fun but good practice
  12. Some days I like rigging and modding my kayak and trailer more than fishing
  13. Just wait till next year when you realize the hook 4 isn’t big enough and you want a 7. Ask me how I know. oh and then there is the trolling motor. it never ends and trailer
  14. It is a very stable kayak. I found out the “almost” hardest way that I can’t swim so I want a yak that I will fall out of before I can flip it. I stand almost all day. Last tournament I was standing from 6:30-2 except when I motored to a new spot. In the photo of me fishing the battery is in the front hatch and I’m sitting low in the front end and rear end is up. While going full power the rear swings back n forth. So now the battery is in the rear hatch. Battery is a lithium and only 14lbs so it didn’t level out much. I think it would benefit from a skeg. As far as paddling a Big Rig it’s not that bad. That is once you get it going. I kinda miss the exercise.
  15. Thanks! The mount idea came from a FB group I belong to. I didn’t want the motor coming straight in as it would block access to my front storage hatch. I wanted it to be just like a bassboat off to the side. The person that first made the mount showed me his design so I could make one. this one with the white Motorguide quick release plate was his design and the black quick release is mine. I screwed up one mount so I had to order another mount board $30. with this mount I also got to keep my front handle. Stainless bolts and used the biggest fender washers I could find. Because Big Rig bow isn’t flat I needed some kind of filler under the mount. I’m no fabricator so I went to a old hardware store and found some HD rubber corks that I cut down to the thickness needed I found on YouTube a two rope system idea for deployment and retrieval of the motor. At the 2:13 mark he talks about it The trolling motor is a Motorguide 45lb thrust Xi3 with gps and handheld remote. It was a 48” shaft but I cut it down to 36”. if you need and other info I’m happy to help
