Used original Big Rig can be found for $1000. I’ve seen 3 this week on buy/sell kayak groups

I’m 6’ 200lbs 61, bad balance and can’t swim. I’m not afraid to stand all day in my big rig. Solid as a rock even in waves

Jackson Big Rig is very stable. I found a used one for $1000. I test drove a Bonafide ss127. I found it stable but shaky compared to the Big Rig but still a very nice yak

Mind if I ask why a 5’5” for topwater? I’ve always heard long rod for topwater. I’m interested in your reasoning. Thx

I would guess it depends on the banks he is fishing. Lots of overhang trees then a 6’. Wide open overhead but tall grasses 7’ or longer

Ok humor me please since I’m new to this style of setting the drag. What poundage would you set it at for these setups? Spinning Wacky Worms 8lb mono. Ned Rig 8lb braid Dropshot 8lb braid Baitcasting Spinnerbaits 15lb mono. Topwater 12lb mono Punching Jigs 20lb mono. Bubba Shot 15lb mono or 30lb braid. thanks for your help with this?

I like BG in those colors. 20lb clear I can see. The 6lb clear I just loaded for trout I can’t see at all

I always used/liked trilene clear/blue fluorescent but I guess they no longer make it

The crate I made has a lid and latch that I always hookup just in case.

I don’t know about either of those reels but I did just buy a Shimano Sienna 2000 for $30. I was shocked at how smooth it is for the price. I bought it for small trout stream fishing in the winter.

I have a ML 6’ casting rod that I just can’t think what I’d throw with it.

I never have anything to do in the winter also. This year I started walking a creek fishing for trout. I know nothing about trout but it’s been fun catching some fish when I normally hibernate. This 18”er is my biggest one so for. Do you have any creeks and trout around?

We normally have 30-40” so far. We have 2” and none on the ground
