  1. The only boudin I have got to try here in Ky is the stuff Walmart sells. What would you guys rate that from 1-10 lol
  2. Are you open 7 days a week or only weekdays ? business hours? ??
  3. Sure it may say bug, but I’m ready for bats…
  4. Dang what a kickoff to the weekend!! If you can get 2 bats with a tennis racket you will be winning ???
  5. Is that a pb on the rat? ? A whistle pig to round out the afternoon would be nice… Here’s my pb but I didn’t get to weigh him before I threw him back
  6. I casted my vote, good luck to your friend. Let us know the results
  7. Despite the scorching temps yesterday I got a start on some dumpling makings. This big boar had little to shade himself with. I’ve squirrel hunted 25 years or more and this is the first I’ve seen in this condition.
  8. Rebel makes the bigger version I think it might be called “Big Hopper” I have used these lures for a long time and use them oddly enough as a warm water jerk bait which means nearly constant jerks while retrieving the lure. 6 lb line lil light action Mitchell 308 spinning reel setup. Creme lures sells a walk the dog style lure that’s under 3”. It is also a sure thing.
  9. I grab with either but use my right to remove the hook. Both thumbs are always well chewed after a good day
  10. I’m having flashbacks. That will send me spinning again ?
  11. You’d had to been there to appreciate it but one late Oct or early Nov midday I made my way to a saddle on a ridge to bowhunt, long walk in. Suns out making the midday warm, I have on a polyester ghillie suit. I take my forearm to move the limbs of a small beech tree outta my way and all heck breaks loose. I immediately hear this loud screeching sound and stop moving thru the tree limbs and start looking around me. As I scan around my feet for whatever this loud screeching is from SOMETHING touch’s my hand. I look and there’s a bat that must been hanging in the beech limbs possibly sunning? it’s making the loud screeches, it’s teeth are chewing and it’s spread over like 10/12” of my forearm ? I instantly think rabies and go crazy I sling the bat every which way but his claws are hung in my ghillie. He goes even crazier so I start spinning like a bull during a ride. I sling my bow and my back pack off and get the ghillie top off and run ? I finally go chk my ghillie with a stick but the lil bat is gone. I then see him flying around before dark and have to wonder who was the most shook up ?
  12. I had bats figured to need cool temps. That has to be hot as hades on them up there?
  13. AC Shiner model 250 in perch, sunfish and thrown on 6 lb line. This lure is wonderful for what you’re doing should you get bored with soft plastics.
  14. I’ve noticed this entirely this year only as I’ve really been burning in my spinnerbaits near the surface of the water but many times I’ll be reeling and I’m getting the vibration of the blades and I feel the weight of the lure then bam a bass hits my lure I often times see the fish flash sideways at the hit but no hook up. What I feel when this happens is the vibration has stopped and the weight of the lure is no longer there. It’s like the lure has been “nocked” forward for lack of a better term. I’ve seen bass from dinks to 4-5 lb bass do this. I never feel the weight of the fish. Is this considered short striking or something else? Is a trailer hook gonna help?
  15. I’ve ordered numerous times but not recently so idk how shipping times are. Last few times I’ve checked they haven’t posted any good deals. Curiosity is killing me, what are you getting?
  16. I also have mid 90’s soft plastics I bought as a kid. Look and feel fine.
  17. Only one soft plastic to t rig.. make mine a 6” Zoom Lizard
  18. I feared the worst for the evening at a pond as I tried my beloved Texas rig with lizards and 3 types of ribbon tail worms in 4 colors. Topwater action was non existent, I then tied on a spinnerbait and immediate action of 8 small fish in half an hour and Also a jumbo crappie. Spinnerbait turned none into fun!
  19. It’s an amazing fruity taste. I’m not sure what I’d compare it to. Yes @TnRiver46 nailed it with the take em home let em ripen idea. I’d like see you place some in the live cages and see what we get? You definitely need to find some DP and give them a sample.
  20. Great lure. Every lure catches at some point.
  21. So what’s up with the silent Red Eyed Shad? Are they gone?
  22. I’m only a master caster when no one is looking. If somebody is with me I’m toad dangling (I lernt that here last week) every cast ?
  23. I was thinking it must be getting close to paw paws to start ripening and falling. End of august first of September thing around here. I’m not sure what eats them in the wild but I watched a huge patch of them one fall hoping to bowhunt deer in them only to suspect deer won’t touch them. The longer you let them ripen after you bring them home the better they are. The skins will go from green to black and they flavor increases 10 times.
  24. That’s must be one mean plopper you’re slinging!!
  25. I buy lures so often that my first casts are always something newly purchased I’m wanting to mess around with.
