The past several summers I've caught more bass on a 1\4oz popper and a Ned rig than all other baits combined.

Time of year...target species... Amount of time. These things are always considerations for me. The biggest one is crowds...if I know there's going to be a bunch of people ill usually go elsewhere.

So I have the typical plastics for crappies...tubes,grubs, straight tail shad baits...but I'm looking for some options on small paddle tail swim baits. Any favorites?

Hopefully you two can figure out the issues and both parties are willing to do what it takes. I agree that it takes two to make it happen. I have a buddy that's going thru divorce right now after 20ish years of marriage. He tried his best and was very patient with his wife...too patient in my estimation. In the end the drugs and other men were more important to her than her daughters and husband. Other buddy was going thru similar issues but it seems they have found a path to save the marriage.

Received the rod last night and this morning I looked it over. Let me first say this is a 30 dollar rod so as you can imagine the guides and reel seats leave something to be desired and its heavy. That said it has a nice mod fast action that will work great for bobber cats. Plus at $30 if I break it I'm not out much.

I'm fortunate or unfortunate depending on how you look at it in that my home body of water is tough. It has forced me to slow down, really pay attention and maximize bites. Oh your that guy?

I know exactly how your grandson feels...I had a bad neighbor encounter when I was about his age. I was living with my folks at the time and my dad always did a big garden. A new guy had just purchased the house next door and my dad had a deal worked out with the previous owner where they let him use part of their backyard for his garden. One day my dads getting the tiller ready and says hey can you go ask him (new owner) about use using a few feet of his yard? I go over knock on the door and explain the situation...guy ends up screaming at me culminating in him saying: get off my property .... My dad comes over just in time to hear me say why don't you come on out here so I can shut your mouth for ya? Well my dad got us separated and I went home about as ticked as a man can be. I'm not proud of it but I contemplated doing some damage to his house...ultimately realizing that's stupid and not worth the trouble. That evening the guy came over and apologized for his actions...I didn't accept his apology instead saying next time you talk to me like that you wont have teeth left in your stupid face. After that he would wave and try to patch things up, to which I'd respond with the finger. Years later he moved back to town and we buried the hatchet. I just wasn't old and mature enough at the time it happened to let it go.

I have a few that I use and absolutely love for channel catfish. Im considering buying one of the new carbon crappie models to try for crappie this coming spring. I know ugly stick have a reputation but the newer stuff is actually lighter and crisper than the originals.

05 Silverado Z71 with about 150k miles on it. Get like 15 ish mpg. Wanted to upgrade this year but with the price and unavailability of new vehicles I spent some money on the house. Plus the old lady has knee surgery so I've been helping her with those bills.

CCR is fantastic...listen to them all the time. I agree on old music being better than new crap...the Doors are my favorite band.

I've got absolutely no issue with somebody using live bait..depending on what I'm after ill often do it myself. That said the fish I target most are largemouth, walleye and crappie and I rarely feel the need for live bait for them. I do target channel cats often and I always use live (worms) or fresh cut bait ( chubs, shad, gold eye). I almost always catch my own bait, something I find is almost as enjoyable as catching the cats.

I far prefer the RES because I prefer to yo yo a lipless. If I'm going to do a straight retrieve I prefer a Cordell super spot.

I stopped going to the dentist in my late teens and didn't go for almost 20 years because I hated it that much. Started going again 3 years ago and to say that first trip back was nerve racking is an understatement. I had to get a full mouth debridement that first trip back...although it was not fun it could have been much worse. I've had 3 or 4 fillings the last few years but no issues with any. It gets easier and easier every time I go now that I'm getting more comfortable. That said do I like goung? Absolutely not

Ha I hear you on the trout only guys...sheesh. And I get that walleye may be your favorite to eat but I bet they aren't your favorite fish to catch or the only fish you target or the only one you consider worth eating. In fact I've seen pics of you with various types of fish so I know that's not true. I just get alot of that elitist attitude locally from walleye guys. I'm primarily a bass guy but enjoy all fish and I definitely don't talk down to guys for what they target.

This is what I was hinting at...I don't know anybody that keeps over the daily limit but their freezer contents pretty tells a different story for possession limit. nothing wrong with that but my main point was guys that put down other species as if walleye really are the king of everything. They say they are specialists...I say they are elitists. you don't strike me as the type to break the possession limit laws tho

Girlfriend works at a daycare and a while back they had like 3 cases of influenza, 4 cases of covid, 4 cases of rsv and 2 cases of strep at the same time-she ended up with strep but I lucked out. Buddies little girl has RSV ...told me yesterday. I've been having some breathing issues the past week or so but no other symptoms. Pretty common for me in winter tho..when it gets cold and dry my asthma flares up. Time to get a small humidifier!

Yep I agree with this. I cant remember the last time I came home with more than a meal or 2 worth of fish. I don't have an issue with somebody keeping a limit of fish...but I do have an issue with somebody keeping a limit every time they go out. Also who wants to clean 25 fish a day every day.

True that...I enjoy catch and release more than eating fish ...although I do like fish its just not an every trip priority. What else is funny to me is that the guys that love to keep walleye to eat don't understand that bluegill, crappie and perch are every bit as good.

I've got a few buddies that only target wall eyes ...turning their noses up at other species. I've never understood it. I also know a guy at work who basically only targets big flatheads..that one I can kinda understand.

My buddy always says: that'll make your sticker peck out.

Guess I lied...I watch @Bluebasser86 videos often...oh and I've watched @Glenn video about reapers about 36 times because they intrigue me.
