Bagged this 8pt this AM in NC. Not a real mature buck, probably had a lot of potential next year, but he was nice enough for me now, and I don’t know when I’ll be here back in NC. Plus beats the only other buck I’ve ever shot, a small 6pt. So without further ado, here’s the beaut. The way he was leaning up against the tree with those dreaming eyes was a little heart-wrenching. As @MN Fisher said… hard to upgrade from Gamakatsu hooks… with anything. They might be my favorite hooks on the market. I do like mustad and owner very much as well. I’ve used the VMC Neko. It’s a good hook. Not too much to complain about. If you like the shape, thickness, and size of the VMC Neko more, then go with it. But I would not pick it over a Gammy hook over some perceived brand superiority. I can see an argument for bulk purchasing of the VMC as you mention. If you pick the VMC for that purpose, okay, but I would not expect to be wow’d at its performance over the Gamakatsu

Yes sir! On more than one occasion Ive had somebody ask me why I was using or recommending to them a black lure… why so dark/bold? The only answer I have for them is that it just works and they have to trust me. I’m especially fond of a black worm though. Black trick worm, black finesse worm, black senko, black mag 2. ????

Most crowded place I’ve been probably. We fared okayish price wise but definitely could get expensive in a hurry. Buying drinks at the bar not a smart move. Our hotel was within walking distance of broadway so you can do the math from there. The larger crowd stayed in an Airbnb not within walking distance and paid significantly more than our smaller group did.

Well heck it was alright enough for me. All the live music, great food and drink, pretty clean compared to other cities I’ve been in. If it was better back in the day I wish I went sooner. Im normally a bit of a recluse but been trying to change that. The crowd I was with loved being there and I would go back someday. I just had a lot more fun than I expected.

Ha! It’s not really fitting… it was the only soda we had in fridge and it was some pineapple flavored stuff, I can’t think of the name for some reason I might get some fishing in this weekend man! Gonna be very chilly though and don’t expect to catch much. Looking for a chill weekend after Nashville.

My philosophical thought of the day: being as “put together” as possible is a good goal to have By this I mean stable emotionally, physically, socially, organizationally, etc. just generally having yourself together and knowing how to deal with your strengths as well as weaknesses
