I have a hair trigger. I feel a tick and I am setting the hook hard. flip/punch really accentuates my hair trigger. it is NOT a good thing. my first punch rod is an inexpensive Six Gills Heavy Fast. it is rigid. like a stick. I really couldn't get punch and flip fish in heavy cover at all. I think it was my hook set. I didnt wait even a millisecond..and I cranked hard hoping to pick up all the slack in the weeds and drive that heavy hook home. I bet I was yanking the heavy weight past the bass lips. I got a softer rod and I things got way better. last year, I put several punch and flip bass into my lap on my kayak. jubilation barely describes it. I really think my Perfect Pitch will be a fine rod for the task. maybe a tad on the light side. but I dont think I will break it. it is kinda moderate on the tip. really bends deep into the rod.

ahhh...morning. sorry for my delay. my loving wife this morning, leaned in slowly, with a smile and said asked me to...."can you make pancakes?" breakfast done. ripped open the box and was so happy. I got hooked up. I now own a buzz bait!!! and an elusive (in these parts) Sleeper Gill. the rest was just super GRAVY!!! never knew that clear bladed jig was a thing.. and some soft plastics!! go time. thanks Fishballs06..thanks. in our household we have both. one cat, one dog. I sometime think my cat (while she is staring at me) is imagining what I taste like. I picked the cat, and I love my cat, but I have nicknamed her "last cat". my wife will eyeball me hard. she is a cat person. she says things like, "science says cat people are generally smarter than dog people". "cats are easier". debatable. trying to clean out a litter box, shoe-horned into a hidden corner of a room while trying to hold your breath for the duration - I dont call that easy. that full on sprint to the nearest pile of paper, to quickly scan/read it for level of importance and to full on sprint back to the cat, doing that "blook blook blook" sound indicating a VOMIT HAIR BALL IS COMING.._again..not easy. you dont want to use your W-2 paperwork for vomit catchment paper. same goes for the passport renewal application. my dog is goofy. loving. loyal. many times he can bite me, but never does. not even when I reach for his bone or bowl. I dont think he has ever wondered what do I taste like. I hug him every morning. he will stuff his head under my comforter and I pop out in a half lean and grab and hug him. he wiggles full body and wags his tiny stump. my cat will meow at me, and I give her a head nod. maybe scratch her head. hahah.. (enter any wife comment here) Me..I am firmly in the dog camp.

A wooly mammoth didn’t have Doppler radar. My local weather is fairly accurate. we have in our construction contracts that our rain season starts Oct 15. Been that way for decades. Every year it was like clockwork. I remember it would astonish me annually. Now? It’s never Oct 15. Weather is changing. sucks the polar bears don’t have Doppler radar either.

I have too many options here. Close far good mediocre bad. The full spectrum of choices. I like exploring, but I question my logic. Sometimes I feel I should just try to master 1 or 2 places.

that cannot be healthy to your roof. I have a welded seam plastic roof and that would void the warranty immediately.

I see. I love this thread since I am a canoe..virgin(?). I dont think I have EVER been in one. I see two camps here. canoe fans that love them because you can easily move them about. carry/drag them to fish wonderlands. Canoe-fans that can modify them with ingenuity and downright smart engineering to make them stable. the two are mutually exclusive. you can't have both..right. that is the drawback. the answer to this thread no?

dang..my tropical borne wife toys with the idea of moving to Grand Rapids MI. this winter might dampen her enthusiasm. I could live there easy..but her, not so much. what? noooo..topwater. that screams topwater to me.

I dipped my toe into the world of smokers yesterday. my neighbor bought one. he is at the point where he is about to go totally blind..and he couldn't read the tiny font on the Treager. he called me. he was on the phone with tech support because is vision. I was..."I got this".. hmmm..prime auger..go. ignite..foosh. everything was so slow and played out. worse because it all had countdown timers. but it was very intuitive. we had billowing smoke in about 10 minutes. I am hoping he can work the smoker from his phone app. I wish it had audible functions to read out the display for him. I dont think I would ever buy one. it didnt seem for me. I dont eat that much meat anyways..

yup. I used to do most of my own repairs. I just dont love it anymore. looking back, I think I should have done my own fronts. bare minimum, I buy myself a sick new floor jack :D. at least I know enough to realize I am about to get it hard..and without lubrication. I am happy I pulled the chute on mechanic #2.

are there stable canoes where you dont have to modify them to be? stable to stand on..right out of the box?

I'm a loyal one-kayak guy. I take my relationship seriously...no more one-year stands... (I kept my Hobie Compass for about a year)
