Escaped a stiff fine.
Wow, you lucked out. Kind of funny, the timing of reading this. Just yesterday I received my Maine life time fishing license in the mail. Never buying a fishing license again.

Surf Casting ?
I grew up in Rye, currently live across the river in Eliot. If it comes handy, give me a shout, would love to meet up, say hi. Also keep an eye on the Kittery Trading Post fishing report before you come. It will tell you everything that's happening ( fishing wise) along the sea coast. Jim

What do you have to force yourself to do in 2020?
Sorry, can't think of a thing. The Mrs. and I are quite happy with where, how, when, we fish.

Old memories...
My old memories come from when I was growing up. I learned to fish at our camp on Mousam lake in Maine. Started fishing as soon as I could walk, seems like. Even home in Rye N.H. my great uncle would take me hornpouting at night, down on the local pond. great memories. Here's a picture of me and my dad on Mousam lake. I always had a line in the water, even with a "toy" rod.

Fly tying materials recommendations
Sounds like good advise so far. If you need any pointers on the actual " tying" let me know. We could get together at some point. Jim

Winter Bass Fishing Tips
The best winter fishing tip I can offer is, push the snow aside before boring the hole in the ice.

What technique would you teach to a beginner angler?
First thing I showed my wife how to use was a Senko. To this day that or a swim Senko is all she uses, and more often than not she'll out fish me.

Just don't understand the way things are today
Hi all, So, we are looking to have some work done on the house. We were looking at a local contractor, good rep, thirty years experience , that sort of thing. I gave him a call, had a good conversation, picked a time for him to stop by, talk about the job. Well, the time comes, and he doesn't show up. I called, got his voice mail, said good morning, gave my name, said Hey. we were supposed to meet, did something come up? Give me a call. This was yesterday morning, never did here back from him. Was talking to my wife about it and realized I was not too surprised. Seems the way things are today, people saying what they mean, and meaning what they say is more the exception than the rule. Have medical tests done, am told they will call with the results, they never do, you have to bug them to get answers, order something, am told it will be here on X date, it never is, so on and so on. Guess it kinda snuck up on me, but I realize that the way things are to day, having someone actually do what they say they are going do is what surprises me. When did this happen?

Anyone else like bad weather?
Maybe one of the reasons I like fishing in bad weather is because if it gets too bad I can duck under cover. Sometimes having a multi species boat has it's advantages. ? Gets you out of the sun too!

Anyone else like bad weather?
The last couple of years I've found overcast, drizzly days have been by far the best fishing for me. I'll fish days like this over sunny days anytime.

Split Handle vs. Solid Cork Handle?
The real advantage is, it gives us another option in choosing a rod. As you've read, some prefer split, some solid. We have the option to use what feels best to us.

Vinyl sheet flooring?
Hi all, We are thinking of getting new floors in our house. Vinyl sheet flooring ( used to be called linoleum?) seems an inexpensive way to go. To anyone who has gotten new vinyl sheet floors, are you glad you did, any issues, problems? I understand these have to be professionally installed but any floor we get would have to be, ( bad back on my part). Thanks Jim
