It's been the summer of large pike screwing up my bass fishing. Amusingly not with bite offs, but everytime I get on a spot where I am sure I am going to catch bass a few 30"+ pike move in and screw things up. They've been fun to catch because they aren't the little grass snakes, but I am shocked at the difference on Tonka size wise in that domain compared to previous years. Haven't had a monster bass day yet, have pulled in a couple 20 inchers but so far the season is not memorable.

First I've seen someone say that. WAY easier for me to cast into or out of tight places with a bait caster. No, \/ has the answer Exactly. Two hands on the rod for nearly every cast. Because they were not helpful and didn't last.

That screams big tiller to me: Lund 2075 Pro Guide, Ranger 620T, Skeeter W2000T, Yar-craft 2095btx, Warrior 2090 BTT. They take big water really well, have bass boat like storage, large front platforms and tons of space. Only disadvantage is no windshield when you are running and not the fastest boats on the lake.

Take all the money you were going to spend changing them all to one brand and put that money into a few great rods. Will be a way better use of money.

I use a M SC kicked out to 7'6" for Trigs. For $100 your best bet is what you can find used.

Everything else you throw on the frog rod is classically better on braid as well. I would much rather use a slightly smaller braid than mono. 30lb you can get away with on a frog, although 40lb is better but if you have to compromise I would compromise that way and not run mono. You will lose more frogs and baits with mono/flouro than the braid....at least if you fish slop where IMO frogs excel.

Rods are not consistent within any one brand....unless of course you use all the same action, length and power.

Stop casting differently for different length casta. Cast as long as you can without the extra bird's-nest energy and use your thumb to shorten the cast. From reading your posts I bet this is the largest problem you have

And a good example of how welded is not superior to riveted. Made in the same plant as the Lund which is a far superior boat in pretty much every way.

At that price point I'd shop used. Takes a bit longer, but you can get killer used stuff in that range compared to mediocre new.

Bottom contact stuff with reasonable presentation speed is your friend. There is a reason most walleye fisherman drag lindy rigs. You can cover water and keep a live bait at the depth you expect fish. For artificials a crankbait, Crig, slow rolled spinnerbait, allowing you to feel the bottom is where I would start. Find the aberrations in the bottom on the likely locations: points, inside turns etc and then slow down when you find structure.

That 22' starts at $137 without any options. Easy to get them to $180k here. If you aren't serious about water sports they are stupid as well. Terrible boats for rough water. Fit and finish is nice, but tons of other things I'd buy if wakeboarding & surfing weren't a priority.

Local place here makes ones from fabric you choose so you can make them last longer. My Malibu is stored like that all the time. Cover is super faded but not weak and going on 11 years now. Snaps on as the boat is moored in the non hard water months.

If side scan is clear and downscan isn't it could be that part of the transducer is bad. I would first unplug and replug everything and then do a reset on the setup for the downscan and see if it stays the same. Then post a picture here.

Haven't tried a frog yet....but only because I have zero faith in them on Tonka which is funny since they are my number 1 summer confidence bait. I have only fished Tonka so no frogs. Fully expect to tomorrow. Went out today, lol, yeah I know, wrong day, but caught a limit albeit about a 9lb bag but the the pike were insane. 5 30"ers. Only had 2 hours so it could have been way better with some time.

It isn't that hard. Just offer to HELP. I've backed at least 30 strangers vehicles down ramps and 95% of everyone I've offered to help has instantly let down their guard and become appreciative. Mo

Only rod I own under 7' is my jerk bait rod. 6'8" is what I chose but a couple inches longer could work from my boat

I used my work VPN to get on to ask that. Germany was definitely blocked. Worked on my cell phone without wifi on...but then it is an American IP address. The instant I had a German one I get the error.

I haven't held a victory but no way I would buy another E6x.

Depends on how wet it is. If mildy then cover now and uncover when the rain stops. If soaked just wait it out.

If I had to choose to only use braid or flouro there is no way in hell I would choose flouro. Braid is superior in so many ways that it highly counteracts it's negatives
