  1. Used to be everywhere had them, they were a popular thing when they first came out. We had a Breadman that worked as advertised, we just lost interest fairly quickly. The down side was they were/are pretty big units. Easy to use, easy to clean. Now I use a cast iron Dutch oven for loaves but find with just 2 of us they get stale before we finish it, experimenting with buns/rolls.
  2. Not yet, I was part of the Tackle Warehouse fiasco, but so far so good. I do get notified for every purchase over $10, hopefully that’ll keep things from getting too deep if it were to happen. FWIW, all credit bureau files are kept locked, supposedly.
  3. I’ve had no luck with gloves, they always end up wet. I do keep a pack of Hot Hands in the tackle box for the cold. I put them in my pockets and stick my hands there when needed.
  4. Thanks, need to practice my Cajun accent before I try it.
  5. Catt, mind sharing what goes into Tommy T's dirty rice? I've never had dirty rice and would like to try making a batch. There's a lot of variation in the online recipes.
  6. Have never taken more then 3. I do change baits a lot. I don't have specific use setups, just differing weights. 6 total. I know, blasphemy.
  7. I’ve been carded once in my life, I didn’t sign the sheet stating my boat had been cleaned before launch. That’s what happens when you get to a new ramp in the dark.
  8. It’s like many things, people favor what they know best. Being new to BC, I can cast and place with spinning gear much better than BC. At this point I don’t know of anything I can do better with BC other than get get bird nests. If I didn’t have arthritis that gets to me with heavy lures on spinning gear, I wouldn’t be trying to learn a BC. You’re not the only one that feathers a spinning reel, I use my left hand fingers to do such, don’t think about it any more then using a thumb on a BC’er.
  9. Does the length make much difference? I’m seeing lower priced used from 10 to 13 +/-.
  10. For some reason when I open a split ring enough for a new hook the ring never closes completely. New rings work fine, it’s just the originals.
  11. I buy sorta cheap rods and reels for salt, i still haven’t killed any. I rinse them at the end of the day.
  12. I’ve got the Mustang HIT too, no complaints. Have an older foam pfd I like when it’s cold out, adds a good bit of warmth and cushion for the back in the canoe.
  13. I’m taking it you are looking for a surf casting rod, I have a Cabela’s Offshore Angler 10’ that’s held up but fairly heavy. I also have one of the Big Waters, it’s like fishing with a piece of rebar. Bought a St Croix Premier 7’ inshore, much nicer to use size when fishing off the rocks. St Croix has some surf rods, probably no cheaper then the Penn you looked at. watch the rod weight for surf rods, heaving Slugo’s and big plugs gets old with a heavy rod and reel. I had to go with a trigger after a while.
  14. I use a Stradic 1000 on my 6’6” L Premier. I have a 2500 too but have no reason to use it on the light rod.
  15. There is a Pit Boss forum, might get some ideas there.
  16. Just looked at my last higher heat chart on Dec 2nd at 375, took 14 minutes. Rec teq 340.
  17. My Rec Teq gets up to 225 in 10 to 15 min. Roughly 20 to 25 to hit 500 if it’s not too windy or cold. how often do you empty the fire box?
  18. Fill out the form and wait for a response. I had the same rod break twice this year, it was replaced both times without needing to return the broken one. just take the pics that they ask for. be patient, it took me about a month. If it matters, I broke a premier twice, as opposed to your mojo.
  19. If you’ve ever fished for strippers off granite breakwaters you know rods get beat up. I have 2 Ugly Stik BigWater’s for that purpose.
  20. I don't mind the dentist, the hygienist is a different story.
  21. I’ve been using Windy but after checking out Windfinder, I like that one better.
  22. Sorry to hear it. We’re dealing with Turkey day leftovers, seems someone passed the plate of Covid. Even with all the shots it still sucks.
  23. Looks like the 10 day from Weatherunderground
  24. We have a couple deer out front, candles in the windows, another deer and a pretend tree out back. As far as I can see where is nothing in the house this year, we watch a toddler and can't put anything out in his reach. We usually decorate some as we have the extended family Xmas party here. A lot of little kids. Haven't decided on a tree yet.
  25. Ad free podcasts, I have hundreds.
