Danger!!! Snake Bit :(
Sorry to hear that happened. With the hot weather we've been getting i've seen MANY rattle snakes, hidden VERY well in areas that I frequently fish. Now I don't even bother with some of those areas. Some of the snakes didn't even rattle. Good to hear all is alright.

Citica 100 drag plate upgrade?
I've had fish pull my drag out of my Curado 100 a few times now, with the drag tightened ALL THE WAY down. Earlier this week, I had a fish pull drag on my Revo STX with it tightened down pretty tight.

Citica vs. Revo SX???
I own 2 STXs, 1 Curado, and previously owned 2 citicas and a 2 SXs. I did not like the SX, but LOVE the STX. If I were to pick between the Citica and SX, I'd take the Citica. Or if I had the extra bit of money, I'd get the STX on Ebay for $170 shipped to your door.

Topwater/Frog Setup
Don't you just love that 765! Pure sexiness (can I type that?)

Topwater/Frog Setup
What other types of top water? I throw a super spook and buzzbaits without a problem on my Daiwa L&T. Hollow body frogs on top of slow really needs a rod that can hold up. i throw it all with a high speed revo stx and 50lb braid.

Topwater/Frog Setup
What type of frogs? Hard body or hollow body frogs? I'd go with a 7'3 to 7'6 for a hollow body frog rod. If you're planning on fishing it on top of slop, make sure it's got enough back bone to pull fish out. I like the dobyns 765 and 766 both for frogs, although they're flipping sticks. Both do the job great and can be used for a ton of other things. Right now, because money was tight, I have a Daiwa Light and Tough frog rod, I've pulled in some decent fish to say the least and the rod has held up great.

High Speed Reel?
I think that a lot of guys hear "High Speed" and think Fishing Fast. I don't fish fast at all, yet use High speed reels. I use them to pick up slack line quickly on a hook set. I've noticed a world of difference from when I wasn't using high speed reels. The hook set is better, and less fish lost. It's easier to slow down and reel slowly with a High Speed, then it is to reel fast with a normal geared reel. I probably will never purchase another 6:1 again. 5:1 and 7:1 only.

High Speed Reel?
Only time I wouldn't get a high speed is for slow rolling spinnerbaits and crankbaits. If this rod is for anything but that, I'd say go high speed! I have 2 high speed Revo STXs, and will be getting more when I can. For frogs, jigs, plastics that you leave slack line in sometimes, they're just awesome.

Bass Software Fishing Guide - Check this out...
There is a thing that BPS sells that helps decide what color to throw. as for speed, bait, and that stuff, I don't think anything except for the fish can tell you that. I've had identical back to back days, water temp, conditions, over cast, etc, and two TOTALLY different presentations worked when the other did not.

smaller swimbait setup
I love to use a flipping stick for smaller swimbaits. Not sure how much jig fishing you do, or flipping or pitching for that matter, but getting one would allow you to do more then just throw small swimbaits. Although you can "throw" smaller swimbaits on a 7ft MH rod, long casts and hook setting power with some rods is tougher then others. a 7'6 flippin stick you can do just about anything with. swimbaits, frogs, jigs, beavers, buzzbaits.

Curado 200E7
No, that post was about the "new Citica". This is the "new Curado" . I saw that this morning as well, someone posted the picture up earlier today. Can't find the thread though. I'm sure there was another post earlier this morning maybe it was removed for some reason? Perhaps to cover up the sneak preview of the reel?

Fluorocarbons for topwater fishing?
I use braid for top water. Half of my top water fishing is on top of weeds and such, but even in open water, I prefer the zero stretch of braid.

Backing off Drags
I started doing this only about a month or two ago. But now I do it ever time. The first few times I forgot to tighten it down on the first cast, and even lost 1 fish. But now I remember every time.

Team Daiwa Light and Tough Frog Rod (Old / New)
Guys, just curious, I read about there being a "newer" updated frog rod with more guides and what not, and wasn't sure which one was the old one, and which was the new one. One has cork handles, and the silver fading to a darker color , the other has a greenish looking wrap on the handles, and is all green, if I'm not mistaken. TW has the green one pictured. Just curious if anyone knows which one is the NEW and which is the OLD.

G-Blanks rods?
I have a MBR844C Loomis GLX rod and just recently sold a 6'10 gblanks rod. The Gblanks rod was NOTICEABLY lighter. The gblanks rods are PLENTY sensitive, and are very good rods.

how to start to put line on a baitcaster
I use heavy line on small reels to start, added the fact that after a month of re-tying lures, snagging some rocks, etc, I get even lower then I started with line. Just yesterday, I casted out my entire spool of line on a single cast, if there was no knot tied, bye bye bait. Just doesn't seem to make sense. Just tie a knot ;D and yes, I know I should re-spool ;D

cumara, carrot stix, or something else
You're insane! The foam handles , especially black, makes the rods look drop dead gorgeous and expensive. Cork looks cheap to me. I guess everyone has their likes and dislikes. I for one, will take EVA over cork ANY day.

curado bashing
I have a Curado 100 and Revo STX I do like the STX better performance wise, but like the size of the curado better. The only reason I don't own more curados is the price.
