How do you get people?
Drive to a local lake, and put flyers on windows with boat trailers. Look for trailers that are for bass boats.

Has anybody used Shimano's Crucial rod's?
Best warranty for a sub $150 rod yes. Lightest, I don't think so. My 6'10 MH Gblanks weighed in at 3.1oz also felt more sensitive, and looked better ;D

Lots of followups (Wakes behind my lure)
It really depends on the fish. Sometimes they'll hit if you continue the retrieve, other times they'll hit if you pause and then jerk it, other times they won't hit at all.

Loomis GLX vs. IMX
Not sure about there, but here spinnerbait bites are very aggressive, and there's no need to pay extra for an even more sensitive rod in that case. My previous comment above should have added it's worth it when you need the added sensitivity with baits like jigs, soft plastics like senkos, etc..

I do not own one, although I have fished with them on several occasions. I wasn't saying it in a negative way what so ever, simply that there are other rods and choices out there. Daiwa Light and Tough rods are a few dollars cheaper, which I have fished and like better. Gblanks custom rods - $125 , incredibly light, very sensitive, great guides, tons of options to have it built to your liking. Carrot Stix are $150, which I have held, but not fished. Dobyns rods $170 , which are my rods of choice. I also meant nothing negative by "basic" no need to get all hurt over that. Simply that they're relatively standard, nothing "special" nothing "stand out/fancy" about them. Not sure what you meant by your $100 remark, but that should be quite obvious.

Loomis GLX vs. IMX
If you have the extra money to spend, yes it's worth it.

Line suggestions
See that was my next question. Since I do a lot of worm, lizard, and plastics. Will the braid be a huge disadvantage or not? I hope not as far as visibly goes. Different guys will tell you different things. Some live by a leader, and others refuse to use a leader. Some will say line diameter plays a larger role then line visibility. It's really up to what you have more confidence in. If your waters are very clear, I'd say try the leader.

Line suggestions
If you're set on switching to braid, Suffix is awesome, and Power Pro is also liked by many. Depending on water clarity, you might also want to consider tying a fluorocarbon leader.

Giving up on swimbaits....?
Those small swimbaits although do catch some decent fish, catch a TON of little fish. Just because it's called a swimbait, as someone said, doesn't mean only big fish will eat it. Jigs, Frogs, Swimbaits all catch LITTLE fish as well. I stuck a 2 1/2lber on a 8" Huddleston swimbait. Just stick with it, but maybe upgrade to some bigger and better quality swimbaits.

They're a pretty basic, good rod. I still think there's better rods in the price range, especially if you're willing to shell out another $30ish.

Back Boating or Poor Etiquette?
I think it's completely situational. If it's a close friend, and he just "does it" and didn't acknowledge it at all, I'd be a little upset. But if he even said, sorry I didn't mean to back seat you, or just something, it might be better. There are other times, where I'm on a boat with a guy I don't know too well, and I've still managed to catch good fish while being back seated. It happens at all levels, but if it's a close friend, I would say something.. I think the biggest problem is either one of the guys on the boat thinking that a specific spot is for them to cast into. I go fishing with a few different guys from boats, and we just cast wherever, whenever, and make it work.

Cheaters getting caught
Who in the hell cheats in a club tournament, especially one that's not for money! It's pathetic to cheat in the first place, but it's hilarious that they'd cheat in a "Fun" club tournament.

Pitching - Please Help
Not necessary to take the brakes fully off, but you really want the line to come off smoothly. Practice is the only way to get it down. I'm trying to practice doing it with my left arm now. >

kistler rods
If you're not set on Kistler, and you do a lot of shaky heading... I use a 702S Dobyns rod for shaky head and it's awesome. Fun to catch 2lbers with, and can still handle big fish. It's also great for drop shotting as well. Goodluck.

Needs some advice on "Catch and Release".....
The sad truth is, there's really not much you can do. I've witnessed a guy do several things at this point, many of which illegal, and he has not gotten in trouble. From wading in NO wading waters, Snagging fish, keeping a limit of 5 fish then returning later that day to keep ANOTHER 5 fish, to keeping undersized fish. Not to mention, this guy I'm speaking of, FISHES THE SAME PLACE 7 DAYS A WEEK. I've confronted park rangers to basically find out, There's really nothing that can be done. A police officer or DFG person needs to WITNESS himself the guy snagging a fish, or what not. There is never a PO or DFG guy at the place I fish, so it's pretty much a done deal that this guy will never get caught.

Clear Lake, California
Temperature wise: It was 100 degrees both days this past weekend, and then cooled down. Bite wise, it's gradually getting better, but still a ton of small fish which isn't like clear lake ;D

Clear Lake, California
Way to go man, Clear Lake has been less then great this year. I was up there sunday, and we had all small fish until almost the very end when I managed a 6.6. Hopefully the bite gets better!
