  1. Yes, similar to why you probably don’t see skeeters a lot but everyone has one here.
  2. I understand that last part about being a crap shoot. It is what It is. I love my Vexus and the customer service has been better than I could ask for. We will see. I could be wrong but I think Bass Pro bought Legend and canned them. But I do like the looks of the Lund a lot too. You don’t see them a lot down here. I would consider one for sure if I decide to go a different route.
  3. Yeah any friction on the line is going to make It pendulum back to you. Even just free spool may not be enough depending on the weight of the lure. Gotta strip line some times. And hope you see the line jump on a bite because it’s hard to feel.
  4. Ok, I didn’t realize we were splitting hairs. Sorry. Yes the people, who make up Vexus, have a lot of history and knowledge in the industry. Thank you for clarifying. I do know that the company itself It young.
  5. I love my boat and the customer service is the best I’ve seen (besides Basscat). Vexus has a lot of history. They’ve just had some growing pains with their aluminum line. However they’ve backed their customers 100% and have changed the design of the hulls and gone with thicker aluminum to fix the problem. Your statement sounds like they have had a problem for years and aren’t addressing It. That’s not the case.
  6. No slimy gar around here. Definitely a catfish. Funny it’s no big deal to kill a catfish but ruins your day to kill a bass. PS neither would ruin my day.
  7. It doesn’t bother me either and I think it’s way overblown on forums. Reason is, I’ve fish year round plus 3 of the hottest summers in a row and have lost ZERO fish in my live well (besides one that was tongue hooked and she was delicious). Probably 50% of those fish were boat flipped, touched carpet, and out of the water upwards of 30 seconds or more for unhooking and pictures. They all swam away fine at the end of the day. So I think it’s blown way out of proportion.
  8. I’ve seen that. I don’t wear one. Is what It is. There will definitely never, ever be full compliance with any law.
  9. I feel like some of you may have an unhealthy admiration/love affair with people who happen to fish for a living.
  10. Dark one from last summer that was suspended in 30’ water.
  11. Check out your local rural king?
  12. Local law enforcement doesn’t enforce federal laws (in general) and the coast guard isn’t coming to check Lake Weatherford, TX. State law must mention It for local law to do anything. ps it’s state law in Texas
  13. Kill switch is the law here. I don’t wear a life jacket though.
  14. Either my left hand here or my right hand here or this fat girl
  15. Yep. I also pitch with spinning setups often. Like pitching a Finesse worm at a dock piling. Super accurate. I tell my wife to stop overhand casting all the time.
  16. Tackle Depot, Weatherford, TX
  17. Water is still 80 degrees here and fish are in summer pattern. Which means I’m throwing creature t-rig, some squarebill shallow, big worms, or c-rig lizard/brush hog. That’s my go tos. Maybe a deep diving Crank. Once the turnover happens and they go into fall pattern I’m still throwing creature shallow, more squarebill, and white Chatterbait. As the water cools more I’ll add red crankbait and Finesse jig. That’s about It until 40 degree water.
  18. No interest here. I like to fish tournaments and that seems like a good way to get your heart broken when It counts.
  19. You on the prowl or what?
  20. Isn’t Randy the guy that whines about everything? Unrelated- I’ve never heard of masking human odor from baits. Is this actually a thing? Lol
  21. Sorry, not into the touchy feely stuff.
  22. I can’t tell a difference. Same with the vixen. Vixen sounds better though.
