  1. Most places out of state annual licenses aren’t that much. I forget what I paid for my NJ annual license as an out of state. I also got a tidal water license for MD to fish below the wingo dam. Heck they offer a $50 bay sticker for the boat that allows everyone to fish. No need to by individual licenses.
  2. Yikes that is steep!
  3. I just paid a hair under $23 for my resident fishing license. I do not fish for trout so no trout stamp for me. I in the past I did get the voluntary musky stamp. I stopped that though. They guy who runs the musky program for PA said one thing and the stocking reports say another. One of the reasons why I stopped fishing for them as well.
  4. I know when I first got into fishing the susky I felt so small. It’s only a mile wide at areas but, 444 miles of wonder. The susky is one of the oldest rivers in the world. Much older than some of the worlds most popular rivers. Seeing how the rocks have became smooth. How over the years they have holes worn through them. I have been to Luray caverns a handful of times. It’s just unreal what this earth has to offer.
  5. I never take any kind of grub, TRD or worm off the hook. I leave them rigged up unless I know it is going to touch plastic that it could “melt”. Just add some scent to them before you throw them. Heck sometimes I don’t even do that. I am also by no means an expert or fish catching king. I don’t sweat the small stuff like this though. To others it may be a big deal. Personally though if you for sure aren’t going to fish for awhile I would not bother.
  6. sounds like a fish story! Kidding so not bass fishing but, I had a body of water near me that no matter what I did I always lost a musky there. Never did get one in the net.
  7. Playing with one of his toys he got for Christmas
  8. Well the roughest part about a jet is they do not have a gear box. There is no neutral. So I have to turn the motor over with the drag of the impeller through the water. maybe your parents just wanted to tire you out so you slept all night lol. I do see a lot of people have issues starting their boats. If I am having an issue at the ramp I’m sure as heck not leaving it.
  9. I had to do the whole Pull rope on the fly where before. Needless today after that day I got a new cranking battery.
  10. I honestly really enjoy where I am at. I’m sure there are better places but, this style of fishing I get to do is fairly unique. It would be hard to give that up. Now, if we were talking about other species then yes I have a few places in my mind.
  11. I had great days with neds and the berkley choppo. Both size and numbers. I do not keep track of any kind of numbers or size on paper. I do have some stand out days though burned into my head.
  12. I run ST. Croix premiers just different med light medium etc. I feel like sticking with that make keeps me in touch with the way the rods feel. If you have an G loomis this and a ST. Croix a bass pro this I think the lines of consistency get blurred. Now I understand not everyone wants to max out their rods with very high end rods because of price. That is the reason I do what I do. Right or wrong it makes sense to me.
  13. Well I just pulled a good one. Went to cabelas was in a rush because I knew exactly what I wanted. I was there for a new spinning set up. Got the spinning reel and when I got home realized I got a casting rod instead. On the plus side I upgraded the rod I was putting off. The down side I am still down a set up now.
  14. I need to step my game up lol.
  15. I honestly just use the Walmart special tear drop ones. I do use one of those drop shot hooks with the swivels attached.
  16. I have a mustang MIT and love it. Anytime my boat is moving on the water it’s on. When it gets really cold I wear my striker ice float suit. It is not considered a PFD by the USCG but, will keep me afloat for a few hours. It also will drain water as I try to get out of it. I think clam might be coming out with a USCG approved suit. if I would to get a new one it would be an HIT.
  17. My parents always had cats. I have a dog my wife and I rescued and love him. Sure he has his moments. I am sure most come from the trauma he has from being a stray and in shelters. After having a dog and comparing them to my parents cats it’s not even a comparison for me.
  18. I’d personally try to fish rock. I’d also try to work slow and bang off of them.
  19. My wife talked to the bait monkey for me. Even a new rod and reel set up.
  20. I sure hope! Walleye do tend to show up this time of year as well. They seem to go missing in the susky till it gets cold.
  21. It won’t be quite that warm here. High 40s low 50s. I am hoping to get out Thursday and Friday on the susky. I do not think the bite will be good. I never seem to do well on unseasonable weather. I am interested to see what the water level will be. Still didn’t peak yet. My guess it will be between 6-7 when I get out.
  22. Man be safe guys. I am lucky here just highs in the teens for day time temps and windy. No precipitation. The susky is rolling pretty good right now. I am hoping they keeps any ice of it for the end of next week. They want it in the low 50s
