  1. #10 and #12 Husky Jerk in TN Shad is by far my biggest producer and favorite. I have more Rogues then I need too, like them also.
  2. I gotta stop this. RW has me feeling a tiny bit guilty and with that being said, I recommend Revo's across the board. I do like my Shimano's very much but right now the uncontested "best bang for the buck" is coming from Abu Garcia in their Revo's. You use one of these for a day and you smile so hard the corners of your mouth rip.
  3. I don't have any of their Shad, but I have some of their 3" Mullets, and this summer finally a found a situation where they earn their keep. I'll be getting some more of these now. The shads and Mullets are not Producto's best baits, not even close. I was about ready to give up on them but glad I didn't.
  4. LOL....poor kid. : Nice pictures....but I hate pike, pickerel or whatever you want to call them. Around here we call 'em "gators". Ain't good for nothing but fertilizer if you ask me.
  5. Hey you guys....thanks for all the replies. Hopefully I have found what I need. Wiimote Angler....I am a BIG Producto customer. I love their products. 90% of my plastics come from them but they don't offer Clear Salt & Pepper anymore. It's too bad more people don't try their stuff, it's excellent.
  6. The Buzztail Shad is killer hot .
  7. 18.33lbs 5 largemouth. It was my 2nd day of a 2 day TOC event in MN on Sept 17-18 1994. I won the tourney and Big Fish. Caught the big one on the first day... 6lb 2oz. Day one bag was only 15.2lbs and it was great to bring more on day 2. I did bring in big fish on day 2 also which was 4.75lbs. Margin of victory was 6 lbs. That big fish remains my PB to this day...so far.
  8. I cannot fish without my trolling motor and bow mount flasher. I know that is 2 pieces of equipment, technically, but to me they are like conjoined twins. They are,to me, the most important and synergistic pieces of my boat.
  9. One of my favorite finesse worms is being discontinued in a color I cannot be without. Kalin dropped the Clear Salt & Pepper color from their Western Weenie Worm. I need to find a similar shaped worm in THAT color. If you have suggestions, throw them at me please. Hand pour or whatever, I need THAT color (if it can be considered a color?)
  10. Honestly? My first rod was a canepole. I was 3 yrs old and my dad chopped one down that I could use. Spent MANY hours on our dock with that thing before I got a actual rod/reel when I was 4 yrs old. Zebco 202 on a yellow solid glass Holiday rod. It is still in the shed at the lake and still works. It was junk when it was new and it's still junk. ;D
  11. My favorite is a jig/craw. I also like 5" tubes and a 6" Producto Tournament worm for flipping.
  12. How deep do you get those?
  13. Sounds like you did good there. You will enjoy fishing with your new rig, especially since YOU picked it out! Have fun slinging those new worms this weekend.
  14. 1/2 oz Stanley double willow chrome (front #4, rear #4 1/2 Hildebrandt) Skirt is a custom clear w/silver flake, clear w/gold flake combo that has a "pale" look in the water.
  15. I have one of each. I really liked the Daiwa reel and still do but I think the Revo SX is slightly better. It is just a hair smoother on both the cast and retrieve. It's not a big difference but if I can feel it I would think just about anyone can. The Revo is also slightly smaller and I just like the way it feels vs the Daiwa. I don't have enough knowledge to back this next statement up but it seems to me the brake system on the Revo is more responsive to input. Smaller changes seem to go a long way. Like I said though, I don't know enough about either design to say one is better from a build perspective, just what it feels like to me. The decision you are faced with is hardly even worth a minutes concern. Both are excellent reels but my opinion is the Revo is slightly better.
  16. I use split shot or I peg a brass bullet by Thunder Bullets with a rubber Peg-It so the tip points up.
  17. Revo Mania is running WILD brother!! ;D I can't participate from a historical perspective regarding Abu Garcia. My history lies in Shimano and Daiwa and goes back over 25 years there. I'll use what I like, what feels good in my hand and what performs on the water, regardless of the name on it. I just happen to really REALLY like these new Revo's a lot. I'll also add that if those Max series reels have aluminum frame (and they said "no corners cut" so they better) then they really should mop up in the $50-$80 low profile category.
  18. My partner is 5 yrs old. Take a guess where my priority falls.
  19. My hero/role model is no longer with us. Buck Perry gave me more through his teachings then any number of people combined. A true pioneer who opened up "the twilight zone" for many many people. He was so far ahead of his time it was just incredible. I also have a very big respect for Al and Ron Lindner and the educational empire they created. I have more then a few tournament Pro's I respect for their accomplishments and methods and all are now members of the "old breed", first among them is Denny Brauer.
  20. Spinning equipment definitely has it's place in our pursuit of bass and I wouldn't be without mine on any given day. I would hedge my bets that a large majority of us subscribe to Roadwarriors applications.
  21. I'll run through them with my people on Monday. Since 1997 huh? Geez, Thats a long time. Thats empowering is what it is. I fully understand now, thanks for clearing that up. I bought another Shimano rod today, do I get a hug? Probably not, bought another Revo too. :-/
  22. RW, you should get yourself a Revo and do your own "time" test. I'm betting you'd switch within a week. Cast a Revo for a day and it's all over bud. I'm not kidding. Until this year I was Shimano and Daiwa since about 1972. I slipped and bought a Garcia Ultra Mag in the 80's and swore I'd never buy another Garcia reel again. I'm not sure who it actually was here that convinced me to try the Revo but I'm glad they did, very glad indeed. Does Shimano pay for your house or someth8ing? Why the "pledge of Allegiance" to Shimano? Yup, I still have some Shimano reels, and some Daiwa....and I always will. But man, you need to EXPERIENCE the Revo on your own terms. I got $20 says you'll buy your 2nd one inside of a month.
  23. Take Roadwarriors advice and go heavier power. I have the very rod you are asking about and I've used it maybe 3 times in 15 years because it is just too light for anything but small panfish. I would hate to get into big "gills" or crappies with it. I have a Premier PS56M that I use as a "ultralight" now and really like it.
  24. Hey Mike, I have a spare truck key stashed in my boat. I had a buddy who lost his keys in the lake one day and this prompted me to stash a truck key in the boat. It's a dedicated spare that stays in there permanently should I ever need it. I'm lucky I didn't have to learn this the way you did I guess. I would not have busted out my window though, I'd have called the cops and gotten it opened up. The hell with everybody else waiting, stuff happens ya know?? It's not like you got up out of bed and said "I'm going to go jam up the launch ramp today".
