  1. I cant get the translated page for some reason?? I hit the Abu Garcia and it brings me to a english page, and once I click baitcasters I get Google error saying "Translation from English into English is not supported. " Me either. I can get all but the 2 baitcaster pages to work.
  2. or how about these:http://64.233.179.104/translate_c?hl=en&u=http://www.purefishing.jp/new/2007/07/17_2/index.html&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dhttp://www.purefishing.jp%26hl%3Den or these lower cost ones...http://64.233.179.104/translate_c?hl=en&u=http://www.purefishing.jp/new/2007/07/09_4/index.html&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dhttp://www.purefishing.jp%26hl%3Den or maybe these...http://64.233.179.104/translate_c?hl=en&u=http://www.purefishing.jp/product/abugarcia-cast_rock.html&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dhttp://www.purefishing.jp%26hl%3Den
  3. How come your hiding all those hot $300 Abu rods from us????? Now I see why Abu isn't paying you...yet. http://64.233.179.104/translate_c?hl=en&u=http://www.purefishing.jp/product/abugarcia/cast/fan_04_fc65mr/index.html&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dhttp://www.purefishing.jp%26hl%3Den
  4. I'm not up to the last minute on the Yen value, but the going rate was about 108 yen to the dollar. So, your looking at about 352 GW's.
  5. Well, I'm not even close to anything that resembles an "expert" on the wobble factor, but I do know I don't have the best of luck with wider wobble baits in the fall. Becouse we have ice over the winter, and the water is warm in the spring when Bass season opens, all I can go by is late fall fishing, which tends to be slow anyway's.
  6. The sunset orange reel is almost enough to get me to become a right hand cranking ABU round baitcaster owner....http://www.japantackle.com/ABU/Abu_2500C.htm
  7. IIRC, didn't the Abu owners give the Daiwa owners a hard time about tuning reels??? ABU Spools:http://www.japantackle.com/Tuning_parts/tuning_spools_abu.htm Handle kits to fit ABU's too:http://www.japantackle.com/Tuning_parts/Tuning_handles_Daiwa.htm
  8. Oooooo would that handle look hot on a Sol....
  9. Guide service would be making a living Bass fishing. I guess I didn't think about part time guides though.
  10. Well, normally I suggest the Supreme series, but in this case, I'll suggest the 6720 President. A little better fit on a 5' rod with 2lb line IMO. I have one on a 6' rod for panfishing with 2 and 4 lb line, works good for me, though I do want to move up to the Supreme 8025, just to have all Supremes. The 6720 will hold about 130-140 yards of 2lb. The website doesn't say, so that is just a calculated guess. The 8025 Supreme would probably be in the 150-160 range, as would the 6725 President. Really, it's just a brand thing, any good, small framed spinner, will work well.
  11. Wow, that's a pretty heavy duty Carrot. Enjoy.
  12. Sounds like a pretty good deal. I'm sure being such a good customer helped too.
  13. Here, I went over how to measure out for braid with backing, so I'll cut-n-paste how to divide up spools, and measure backing, so you get the most out of them. Things you will need/want: $10 clip on line counter. Spool of cheap mono. Spool of braid you will be using. If desired, 2 empty line spools are real handy. Also, a line spooling station is real handy too. 1) Tape braided line to your reel spool. With the line counter, put on desired amount of braid. 2) Tie on same size (DIAMETER) mono for best results, but other size mono will work. I use 12lb XT mono, becouse I have a spool of it, and don't like the "new" line. It is now backing line. Fill the spool to the proper amount over all. As you fill the spool with mono, measure the amount of mono you put on and remember that amount for the future. 3) Strip the line back off the spool onto an empty or any spool. 4) Transfer the line onto yet another spool, so the mono is on the outside. 5) Spool the reel and go fishing. The backing should last a few years, but it's a good idea to make note of the backing length for other same size spools, and also, so you don't have to go through the line transfer process again. Side note: 225 yard spools can be divided up 110x2 or 70x3. 300 yards spools can be divided 140-145x2 or 95x3 or 70x4, and so on, I'm sure you get the math part.... The mush at the bottom of the spool is best cut off IMO, that is why the lengths come up short. Line is getting expensive, anything someone can do to get the most out of a spool will help in the long run. It would be nice to justify the investment of larger spools, but, for me at least, the value isn't there yet. While I have settled on diameters/test strengths for most set ups, I'm still searching for the type and brand of line I want to stick with. Even then, I'm frugal enough I'll probably still divide up the larger spools.
  14. Call the Sportsmans warehouse in Roanoke and see if they have any Loomis IMX or St Croix Legends marked down. If not, have them do a chain inventory search to see what is left out there. I got my MBR IMX rod for $150 and an SJR rod for $120. I heard others got different rod marked down too. I also got free shipping on my deeply discounted Fuegos mailed in, from 3 states away...right to my doorstep. I know the local SW still had the MBR rod marked down along with Avids and Legends. I see your in NC, but if the TN or SC store is closer, you could try either of them. I ended up having the store in Fargo ND do the search for me, becouse the 2 closer stores were not much help, if nothing else, try the Fargo store. http://sportsmanswarehouse.com/store_locator.cfm
  15. Tha Classic is all the stores on the same dates this year!!! This is how it works= You bring in a reel and you get a rebate for a reel that you buy.It depends on how much the reel costs and how much the rebate will be. You can buy any reel and the rebate will go toward that reel. The rebate is run by Bass Pro not Shimano or Daiwa, so you would get a rebate on any Shimano or Daiwa or any reel. If you bring in 3 reels and buy 3 reels you get 3 rebates! Now if you bring in 3 reels and buy only one reel you get one rebate not 3. I don't know who is right or wrong, and I don't want to get in the middle of it, but.... One thing I can tell you, if Shimano does not want their reels to be part of the promo, they won't be. Guaranteed. That's a Shimano thing.
  16. All unweighted, smaller jig, and light bullet weighted Senko's, tubes, Power worms, etc... I use my BSR803 spinning rod. Heavier stuff, like SwimSenko's, I have to move up to my SJR783. This year, my MBR rod might get called apon to do that duty though. I don't have a technique specific rod for the heavy plastics.
  17. Ummm........NOT. The Avids do not share the same blank as the Legends. I suppose that's another BPS "typo" too????? I ordered from them once, and was not impressed, the more I look over their website, well, I'll just leave it right here.
  18. Gee, I should go back to college so I can afford Luckycraft lures. I've boated a few with those power tubes, they should do well for you.
  19. Any hardware on up to home store will have pegs and peg board. I love the stuff myself. Some tips: 1) Buy the pegs and other items you will be using on the ped board FIRST. Get matching items, some things are for 1/4 inch hole pegboard, some are for 1/8 inch. 2) Choose matching peg board. There are 2 different size peg boards. 1/8 inch holes, and 1/4 inch holes. It's best to try and have the hardware and pegboard match. 1/8 hardware will work in the 1/4 board, but it doesn't work the best. If you, somewhere down the road, find something 1/4 you want to use in the 1/8, you could drill those holes bigger to make it work. 3) If you don't have a finished wall, you can mount the board right to the studs. If you have a finished wall, frame the back side of the sheet with 1"X2" pine board. If you have a lot of weight, running strips down the middle helps too. On a 4X8 sheet, I frame the outside, and run one down the middle, the narrow width, then mount the sheet so it's 4 high and 8 feet wide, that way I don't have to bend over or reach up to get things. 4) Use screws to assemble, you may want to change it or move it some day. There is a good chance of damaging the board trying to get nails out.
  20. LMAO...are they still in the unopened package????
  21. Fact is, line diameter is the biggest factor when it comes to a cranks running depth. Floating braid and sinking fluorocarbon effect worms, jigs, and various other presentations, but when it comes to cranks, pulling the line through the water, and the hyrodynamic resistance the line creates, is what effects them. I've alway's used mono with my glass rod, but with the new rod I got, I am honestly still undecide on what type of line to use. I think I am leaning towords giving braid with a small fluorocarbon leader a shot.
  22. I can't wait for that either, as well as a lefty orange Pixy : I don't get it??? You make it sound as if there is as much chance of an R edition as there is of a 2003 lefthand Pixy??? Hmmmm well, the Alphas R edition has specs, so we know there is one of those coming..... "The small body reel Alphas series reels target finesse fishing. And R-edition is specified in the most finesse use, under very tough conditions. Anglers use 6-12lb test lines, to fish at water with many anglers. The reel also serves well for pitching and flipping with 20-30lb test lines, as the super low profile body offers the comfort in palm, as well as the light weight help your wrist. The ultra-duralumin spools is drill to reduce weight, to.cast light rigs easily. The small body still hold the same line capacity as other TD 103 reels. MagforceV brake system offers comfort in casting. R-edition has 2 more ball bearing at handle and make the total to 8+1 to offer the smoothest cranking. The cranked carbon handle reduce weight, as well add some exotic looking." Alphas 103 R-edition 5.8:1 170g/6.0oz 8+1 roller 12lb(0.32mm)-100yds TBA $380 [ch12288] Alphas 103L R-edition left hand 5.8:1 170g/6.0oz 8+1 roller 12lb(0.32mm)-100yds TBA $380 Mmmm, Silver body, gold spool and line guide, CORK grips.... 8-)
  23. Sounds like a really good present. 8-) They have had the sale on them, online, for a little while now. I keep thinking about it, but I really don't need any more lures that size. I need to pick up a couple 01's and 03's countdowns, and a couple larger divers.
  24. If I decide to try shakyhead style fishing, I already have a great rod for it, my BSR803 worm rod.
  25. Sharp replacement hooks. Split rings. GOOD split ring pliers. Rapala countdowns. Fresh first aid kit. Fresh sun screen. Fresh bug spray. Ultrathon. Your on your own with the spinner and swim baits. Make sure you get enough split rings so you can add a split ring to the rear treble on your topwater lures.
